Witcher 3: All 33 Hidden Treasure Chest Locations You May Have Missed in White Orchard!

Very nice guide! However there are couple of unmarked chests missing here. I just replayed White Orchard and confirmed two locations that I sometimes have found by luck, but didn't remember exactly before. So the first is close to the Herbalist Tomira, to be more precise - If you draw a line between the fast-travel-road-sign just to the West of Tomira's house, and the house of the frying pan quest this location will be exactly in the middle of that line, or Nort-East of Tomira's house. The secret chest is between the two low rocks there, and between some low-bushes. Use your Witcher senses or you probably won't be able to see it otherwise! The second looks the same as the first - two low rocks with some low-bushes are hiding a chest that can't be seen without Witcher's senses. The location is mostly North of the fast-travel-road-sign called "Ford" on the map, and just a little bit to the East. If you start from that road-sign "Ford" and move North by the river bank (as if you're going for the #25 location in this video - under the waterfall), roughly at about the mid-way to that waterfall, where the main river makes a wide bend and get narrower, there's open field. Before that field ends, and some forest starts to the North side, very close to the tree line and close to that river-branch there're the two low-rocks - you can actually see them on the map - they're two short brighter yellowish with a little green for the bushes between them. Also couple of smaller containers, which however might have precious loot - one is located on the road that leads from Tomira to the Milfgaardian garrison, the same road on which you chase the rider from the "Precious cargo" quest . There's a thin rocky patch that actually few peasants are mining, and next to that road there's a very small ravine, in which there's a dead peasant and his horse (apparently high-speed traffic victims), between them there's a container with loot. The other small container is very close to the "Crossroad" fast-travel-road-sign, at which you enter the game with Vizimir. There's a wide open rocky slope under the road just West of the "Crossroad" sign, and there's the loot, little under the road - again looks like someone fell of the road and dropped the loot. Also if you're looking for another Bear hide/fat (in addition to the one guarding the place'o'power at the South-East edge of the map. Or to the East of the Abandoned village of the "Devil by the well"), I found by luck another bear, that was practically outside the map, I think to the very West edge of the map, not sure is it was more to the North or to the South of the village that you clear from the ghouls (West of Tomira), but if you make a run on that edge of the map you should see the bear. I had to run outside the map (and get turned back by the game) couple of times and burn it with Igni to aggravate it, and make it chase me a little inside the map where you can fight it normally.

#15 is tricky, but I think I see how you can get it on the 2nd attempt reliably. When on first attempt the game tells you that the world ends there and return you you're actually a bit closer to the chest than you would have been if you started swimming originally, so just start swimming to the chest immediately and you'll get extra second or two - enough to grab everything

I primarily watch your vids for the "Get Wrecked, Sir!" parts. :D I knew where all these chests were, but am not sure I have them all for Velen and Skellige. :) Hoping you'll do a video for those areas in the future.

You missed 2 more hidden chests there’s one by the river between the crossroads and Ford fast travel. Well if you get the center point between both and go directly north next to the river, there’s a pretty good hidden one between two rocks. The next is between sawmill fast travel and the river to the right. From sawmill if you go north west towards the river there’s one next to a boulder. I wish I could put pictures here it would make it soo much easier to show exactly where I’m talking about.

I will be honest because of this hidden treasure chests. I love it even more. Even they are not so rewarding. It rewards exploration like breath of the wild.

If you read the document u find in the chest u get a treasure quest, so it's not really a secret, reading books found on guarded treasures or spoils of war often have quests

The chest under water by the fossil is there but its no longer accessible. You can't access the chest anymore. But in that same body of water, use your Witcher Sense, there are 3 chest that are scattered that you can loot.

Witcher 3 rule of thumb: Every bridge has a secret tresure underneath it. Every river besrs secret chests, and every lighthouse has a secret under water entrance for quick access

The very first time I played this game, I had NO idea what was going on. I missed a TON of loot and treasure chests. In a New+ game, I was a bit more wise...I downloaded an app of a game companion maps for TW3. The ONLY way I was EVER going to find all this stuff and to make sure I avoid red skull monsters. And yes, for me, it has made the game more enjoyable because, I don't like surprise red skulled monster attacks (I still get freaked out when I go near the dragonslayer grotto, because of that stupid leshan).

A nice guide for newcomers to the game, but at 4:12, the sign used is I-G-N-I, not iNgi - similar to the first 4 letters of ignite, describing setting something on fire or to set aflame.

For the poison gas you can also use aard to blow it away. They must’ve added that as a feature with the new update.

There is another one in the Garrison in the tower. You have to climb a ladder and through a hole in the wall then jump behind all of the basic loot and there is a chest.

I'm on my 6th Playthrough for the NextGen upddate but never knew about many of these chests. Thanks for making these guide videos mate.

Also little tip for everyone, Human enemies can be executed no matter of their Health, level and resistances, just you Axii, wait a sec and light attack them from the front.

I have one more that I think wasn't covered. Read quite a few comments but not all. East of the large Nilfgaardian Garrison and across the river, there is a small Nilfgaardian camp with two tents. On the west side of the western tent, there is a 'good' chest, one that usually has a recipe and such. While it's not normally a good idea to loot this close to soldiers, you can loot this chest while you let the tend block the soldiers' view. I haven't been caught looting it.

I think the Temeria Special Forces item can be specially sold, like a quest. I have yet to see it on my current playthrough, but I vaguely remember it in my 1st when the game first came out.

a wee trick is if you come to the edge of the map and it tells you to turn around carry on till it throws up the map and it'll let you teleport to a marker

Stopping at 4 as 3 and 4 were marked treasures... Who MISSED those? Also I did find 1 and 2. Even though I went to "chest" 2 from the other side and found the entrance while in the locked down area.

In an unrelated note the strongest Sward in the game used to be Ciri's witcher Sward that u only get in the end of the game it no longer has the effects it used to but the very first time I beat the game that Sward had a 0 damage but a 100% chance to dismember

There is another loot chest on this map, you’ll need to head east from the White Orchard village, right next to town is farm with nilfgaard soldiers, on farm there’s only one big house and behind it, outside is another chest ;)

@ESO - Danny, what level were you when you first moved on from White Orchard to the Royal Palace "interview"? I deliberately 100%-ed White Orchard to get as high a level as possible before taking on the Griffin, and yet after killing it was still only level 4 and halfway to level 5. Yet, the game recommends minimum level 5 to enter Velen and the only quest in Velen at level 5 is the initial hunt for your "secret" contact, after which there are two level six quests before everything else is level 9+ ... how is it possible to get to that level in time if following the story progression? (Note I did do the Kiera Metz adventure by allowing her to be the tank and main damage dealer against the golems and gargoyle, at the very end of which I just got a level up into level 7, but only just. My very next encounter 30 seconds from the exit of that adventure put me up against four level 13 wraiths and I got wrecked (multiple times) before giving up and escaping in the boat).

You missed 3 chests, 1 was in the ravine at the Broken Bridge, just follow the ravine to the right and it's at the end at the base of a cliff. The other 2 chests are located inside Mislav's House. Unfortunately you need a key to get the ones in Mislav's house and I have no idea where the key is and it seems no one else on the internet does either bc I've spent the past 4 days searching YT (that's why I watched your video) and Google for it's location and it appears it nowhere to be found. 😭 Ah you did find the out of bounds underwater chest at the ransacked village, I was going to say you missed that one lol as it does not seem to be very well known. So much so that when I found it I went looking to see if others had and I only found a single old forum post talking about it.

(4:13...) -If you use the sign ,(I quote you) Ingi ... I know it might be a Lapsed but fire and "Igni" like , ignition , ignite and so on is not something that one has to TRY to remember it correctly .When you have a word for the sign of fire "IGNI" which basicaly is the base for the word ignite , fire starter ,NO ONE should have to have trouble remembering it , just by using logic .I mean it's not like "Irden" so you struggle the first few days of gameplay to remember them correctly and what they do . Just a constructive critique !

Off topic: But I think it's really annoying that you lose the chance to get the Crystal Skull once you've killed the finished the Beast of White Orchard, I did and I'm not about do re-do all the level grinding and material creating for it, quest item my ass... Thank you for this video, It really helped me out as a first time player as I was wondering about some of the treasure i've already taken!. It seems that the Complete Editon for the Nintendo Switch is different as I've not gotten either the Vampire Oil Manuscript or the Relict Oil. Or the rewards are probably totally random!

There are actually two more hidden chests. One is located on the eastern beach at the Nilfgaardian garrison and another chest an a mother one on the field between the Herbalist and the and the Sawmill

Not really the only secret ones are the one you need your witch sence and theyre not mark they have gold or legendary armor and alot of coins. Use it most of the times in place that dont have the question mark.

His trouser looting ratio is off the charts.

Very informative for newer players, but anyone used to open world games should find most of these out through general exploring. For the record, the recipes are mostly RANDOM, so you likely won’t get the same ones. Also, how do you “miss” most of these chests when they have ‘?’ on the map?

Chest must be random because the drowned chest on the beach where you got assassins trousers I did at level 1 and got a voreco sword which was a huge improvement for my steel sword at level 1 going straight to blue tier, not sure how random chest are but this confirms they are least are.

So I've been wanting to get a Witcher game since the series came out, problem is I don't know if I should start at the beginning or if I should just get Witcher 3 since it's the one with the best reviews. In other words am I going to be missing references if I started in 3 like say in Mass Effect or does it have it's own detached story line like pretty much every GTA?
