An easy way to kill the Toad Prince Boss in Witcher 3's new expansion "Hearts of Stone". Just use Igni's alternative firestream version to light the toad on fire and do massive damage.
@@riteasrain Build up your ability points then upgrade your IGNI sign.. I upgraded my IGNI sign so much that now I can melt my enemies armor during battle.
This has been the hardest boss for me so far. Got eredin on my literal first attempt, but this one took at least 10. There's a rhythm you can get into with heavy attacks, hitting him while he's in the air, then rolling away.
Same. While I killed eredin without using any spell. Before this, I found fire elemental(maybe wrong name but you got it) hard because I used very low level equipments.
There is also a potion that makes this fight trivial. Superior golden oriole combined with a swallow will outheal any damage the toad can do if you intentionally let him poison you.
BTW, using the superior fire bomb burns him instantly. Use that plus alternate yrden and the northern wind bomb and you can kill him without getting hit once. Just bomb, cast sign, hit until he jumps away then immediately throw your next bomb and repeat the cycle.
Two problems with this: it does virtually no damage unless you press z to lock on... but pressing z means that Geralt literally runs at and hugs the toad rather than kiting him, no matter where you try to drag the mouse to make him run away to in between attacks! I've died faster using this method than any other!
I'm also tired of people calling this boss "one of the hardest" bosses in the game. In no universe is anyone having this argument unironically. The toad prince is the hardest boss. That is an objective fact, so stop pretending like other bosses MIGHT be harder to some people. I guarantee you they're not. Nobody is out there acting that Detlaff or the Ofieri mage are more difficult to defeat lol.
If anyone doesn’t have the constant igni or have it very upgraded you can just stay close to him and keep dodging into his side and wait for him to do his tongue attack and then get two hits in and reposition. If you see his front tongue attack coming then immediately roll to the side. Golden Oriole is your friend and so is Cursed Oil
I have the upgraded igni and I never once thought to try this. But seriously, why didn't Radovid drag this guy out of the sewers and set him on Nilfgaard? The war would have been over in minutes, and he would still have time left over to jump all over the Wild Hunt and squash them.
I tried several other techniques from other videos, but they didn’t work. Must’ve spent at least 10 hours. But with your method, I defeated him in 10 minutes. Thx much!!!
I beat him a similar way. Just after he used the tongue attack and I dodged, I would promptly cast normal Igni on him. I have Melt Armor, so maybe that's a must, I don't know. The fire did 7k damage, so I just needed to do this a few times and he was dead.
Alt Igni, Quen, Swallow, Troll decoction, to get a few sword hits in during his poison phase is what I opted for. Oh and some white honey to clear troll decoction when you get him to like mid health.
I was like 11 level under. And I loved it. I haven't felt more like a witcher since that fight Ekimmara decoction to regenerate life with each blow I gave. Katakan decoction to increase critical hit chance. And of course Golden Oriole and Swallow This is my second time playing The Witcher 3, first time with DLC and this has been the only fight that made me consume concoctions
For those who upgraded their Yrden so that it shoots the enemy, you can also do that, and get a few hits in. Then, when it jumps behind you, just before it lands you cast another upgraded Yrden, and hit him again. Rinse, repeat. Took me longer than I'm proud of to figure it out.
did this on death march + enemy upscaling and i didnt have the fire stream or points for it. base igni spam works too just have avoid his attacks and survive for longer.
Geralt stands in place like a little bitch on my PS4. He takes forever to cast Igni, he guards instead of running. He has been stellar up until this boss and now he is utterly useless. I hate this mission.
Dude, you rule! It wasn't just hard but incredibly annoying to me. I just douched and blew fire, ıt takes some time but better than attack with sword or bombs. Thanks!
No way is m able to overcome this... crappy logic and game.u will be given level 32 in hearts and stone dlc when u start off and now way matching with this..this is my 5th night trying this ...one single blow is taking half of my life..and posionous gas too.. Edit: Finally I did it...using Igni only...but was a narrow escape..
It took me 6 min on Lv 37. I've used 2 Potions of Enhanced Golden Oriole, 2 Enhancing Dancing Star bombs (they worked but you don't have to use them), Igni sign, and I dodged a lot. Didn't use my sword on him at all.
Well that's cute because I don't know anyone who would waste even a single experience point on Ingi's alternate mode. I mean, I'm sure you'll find plenty of people developing that sign if they've never played the game before, but everyone who has beaten the game knows that Igni's alternate mode is an utterly useless waste of exp points. So if you're telling me that we should develop that ability simply for this one boss, I think the game developers deserve a fair amount of hate mail. That is if they didn't already deserve it for putting an insufferably ridiculous toad prince in their game to begin with. Honestly, the first time I saw it, I felt like I was being trolled. No bullshit.
