Sarah with an H Yeah, I’m willing! Do you think 33 is too old? Would she just transform into something between her age and 33, or all the way? 33’s not bad. I guess it depends on how old her date is. We must know!
@@rioreason these are the important questions. I highly doubt 33 is too old. Thinking about this more, I've got questions on the logistics of the potion. If you were to mix blood of different ages would you become some age in-between the oldest and youngest ages? Or does it just subtract age depending on how much you drink and the potency depends on the age of blood? How does this work? What's the best way to do this?
I like the implication that witches are green and shriveled as children, then by their young-adulthood they look like normal people, but then they go back to being green and shriveled by the time they're old.
you know i used to think the "young photos" were actually taken when she was younger so it confused me why they all looked so modern in how they were taken and stuff but im now realizing theyre probably just her with the youth potion.
Based on the style of those pictures I'd say they could have possibly been taken any time within the last 60 years. Before then, the combination of makeup, clothing, poses, and color photography are extremely unlikely. But there did exist photographs like this in the 1960s. Usually if they were casual or candid amateur shots like this look they'd be in black and white, but color film was available and I've seen plenty of color photos of in the '60s that look like this. At the time, these kinds of photographs were often considered pornographic. The color reminds me of Pamela Green and Harrison Marks, but the nontraditional "non-studio" aesthetic is more New York bohemians. Like they could have been taken at Andy Warhol's Factory. However, some of the photographs look like selfies and the style of clothing and makeup became more common over time. I think your explanation of them being recent photographs taken with a youth potion is more likely than them being vintage photographs. Also, although can be very old, witches may be younger than they appear. It can be a very unhealthy healthy lifestyle. It wouldn't surprise me if they age prematurely and turn green and warty like pickled cucumbers. But I do think she took the photos in the last decade using a youth potion and a smartphone. I also think there's a good chance the animator didn't even consider this and might have attempted more old-fashioned photos if he'd thought about it. Then again, how is a photo that looks old supposed to decieve a young suitor? The youth potion explanation is very likely. Perhaps they also become youthful looking during certain rituals. In many stories, witches can temporarily conceal their aging.
@@QuadElementals i think she found out they were made out of child's blood recently. like the phrasing that "my sister told me" instead of her just saying it, as something she knows, makes me think she found out about it in a recent conversation with her sister. at least thats how i interpret it.
I think the reason Miriam is okay with kidnapping but not using youth potions due to its contents is because she genuinely doesn't know that kidnapping is bad. She only informs Joanna of this "take of the century" because someone else told her about it. Maybe kidnapping is just a typical part of witch culture, so she doesn't realize how problematic that is
There was actually a study around 2010 that showed that elderly people who received a blood transfusion from a younger person had a lot of age related ailments lessen for a time afterward. Also bone-marrow transplants tend to cure a lot of other chronic ailments from type one diabeetes to hiv.
Alexander Bogdonav (sp?) 1920's apparently had great success with this as well, until he didn't from pathogens he couldn't test for. But we have the technology...
@Aspiring Marauder or clone you and you find a door leading to piles of your dessicated twins lying mangled on the processing room floor, causing you to question if you are the real you or just the juiciest version. I mean umbrella Corp has already primed us with the thought implantation so...
voracious viewer there has been a recent experiment on trying to make beef without murdering a cow. And it works for the most part. One small problem is just like the youth potion. A SMALL VIAL OF BLOOD, SHE NEEDS IT! But I wonder if we can do that to children and do endless replication of blood cells. Could we get "youth blood"? Or would those slowly age or mutate and become cancerous before they are even useful? Not to mention you would need to get over the morale issues with that
@@duckduck5728 oh I know where to get some good morales, I would typically suggest a fungi with a more complimentary flavor profile, say a porcini, but I aim to please the palate of my guests, Morales for our vials of 'clone' blood it shall be!
To be fair... she had to be told. Mirriam's friend: "So about those youth potions. Kinda not okay to use child's blood these days" Mirriam: **Surprised pikachu face** "No no nooo. Really? Why I milked three children just the other day" Friend: "Sooo..." Mirriam: "Want to get Joanna and go kidnap some handsome young men?" Friend: "Oh yes, let's."
@@lordlasagna5121 idk man, I didn't see that til college 😅 like if you're under 18 and giving blood without a permission slip or something that seems...iffy. Lol
"Im going on a date later and my date expects me to look younger... so... CAN I HAVE SOME OF YOUR BLOOD?!" this is the best line ever spoken in modern entertainment
It's been two years since a first saw this clip and I still find it fascinating. I'm not exaggerating when I say I need a FULL series of this!!! where is it?! If I were an aritist reading a fan comment that said "please make a series of this" you know what I'd do, Miriam? I'd give her the series, she needs it !
Yeah, but i got my blood drawn once and it scared the hell out of me. It was so much blood...O-O also im wicked scared of needles so the thought of a needle doing that scares me even more...
Gray Philosopher Tell that to a kid screaming after getting his shots. I went through it with my kid. There’s no reasoning with a screaming child. You just have to pick them up and carry them to the bowl of lollies.
@@sully1917 "Drop" is also a slang term. You would usually drop some facts or drop some knowledge on someone, meaning that you informed them or told them something. It sort of comes from the phrase "drop an album" like a record or recording or "drop a beat" so it kind of implies that what you have to say is something important in anticipated. "Drop" and "Take" are more commonly used words, "take of the century" is something used much less commonly and is part of why its so funny. Also, it is probably used much more frequently in an ironic or sarcastic way. Good luck with your English studies!
As a former Child I can confirm that we had lots of blood. Didn't even know what to do with all that blood, used to go spilling it _everywhere._ So wasteful. 😞
@Mama Yaw Oh you laugh, and I can understand -- it would be hard to imagine, looking at me now. But it's true! Actually spent a whole decade as a Child and then some.
Ah, yes... To be young and full of blood again. I used to drive the vampires in ny neighborhood crazy with how openly I used to flaunt all that blood I had
*jaw drops to floor, eyes pop out of sockets accompanied by trumpets, heart beats out of chest, awooga awooga sound effect, pulls chain on train whistle that has appeared next to head as steam blows out, slams fists on table, rattling any plates, bowls or silverware, whistles loudly, fireworks shoot from top of head, pants loudly as tongue hangs out of mouth, wipes comically large bead of sweat from forehead, clears throat, straightens tie, combs hair* Ahem, you look very lovely.
@@thinkfreak489 It's not really a "joke," per se, it's just a funny way of saying that someone let their opinion be known very strongly as in "the take of the century."
Think Freak basically “she gave me an incredibly interesting viewpoint on youth potions that intrigued and surprised me”. But in a really silly way of saying it. Edit: “hot takes” is usually how people say it, if that helps for reference.
Miriam: Using pictures of yourself on a dating app form when you were younger instead of current pictures is deceitful and therefore wrong. Miriam: Using childrens blood in youth potions is wrong because you're stealing blood from children. Also Miriam: Kidnapping someone to date them is perfectly fine
I was expecting her to match with some crotchety old wizard who also used the “young pictures” And maybe they actually like each other despite both being old and gross, maybe it actually works out. That’d be kinda wholesome
I love the little sounds they make and how they interrupt themselves and each other, really makes for an authentic-feeling conversation. Idk if this is taken from anything or original audio but I love it, and the animation makes it really come alive, too.
Showed this to my little brother a while back and he keeps asking me to watch this again and again its adorable. Literally the other day we went to get blood tests and he started talking about how the witches should just work at donation places and take an extra vial per kid
Lol reminds me of when I was a kid. My older brother would show me RU-vid/other internet videos (RU-vid was still pretty new at that time), and I would get obsessed with like one video for months, and watch it over and over. Good times haha

@@Karma_616 In this day and age men want that women show a bit more bite and spine. They basicly want to be kidnapped by them. It's just how power dynamics work nowadays. I don't know about the murder part though. It seems a bit short sighted and exessiv to me.
it would be a brilliant concept, two witches taking on the issues of modern life, i can imagine an episode where miriam grills joanna on the carbon emissions of her broomstick, or joanna takes miriam to a witch rave
