I like how the beginning scene with the “original witches” has one witch of every main/ branch racial / phenotypical identity. Native/ indigenous, black/ central or southern African , white, East Asian, Arab/ North African, Latina /mixed indigenous ( mixed European and African) !! That made me so happy. It also makes sense because EVERYONE originated in the same place geographically !! ❤❤❤❤ Love to see us united as one!
I know this will come off as naive...I simply don't understand how race accounts for anything. Omg, you grew up/had ancestors from a place that required more or less melanin production for survival. 😲😲😲 I absolutely love this show. It's only second next to Charmed (THE ORIGINAL ONE). On that note...Abigail = Prue, Tally = Piper, Raelle = Pheobe. I know it doesn't fit dynamically, but still...Adil = Leo and (maybe) Moffett = Paige.
This show deserved at least 5 seasons. They could have even continued a few more seasons anthology style as tally seeing the future and the past and her seeing great stories of witches in the past. They could have done seasons on different stewards of the first song throughout the ages. And we could have have gone fully into Alder as a whole story, because she was kinda a villain til season three.
I waould love to see more of the not american Work. Like the Indian based on gestures or the British made with object sounds. Or just more native work. Just see more from the world. I don't know how about creating an book about the lore and history
A couple scenes are missing like nictes spree work and the rings of saturn seed from anacostia and petra. Also the second singing of the first song is missing.
I still don’t get why Abigail couldn’t do Gem’s work, since she was the last descendant of Gem and the steward for the first song. I do remember in the last episode the book Alder found said it was about how she sang the song.
@@xynthar4432 it also might explain how Gem was more close to the elements than Abigail, making Gem the strongest Bellweather/Belleweather. Just wish we could’ve seen more.
If the show would have continued they probably would have went into it deeper, it was canceled on pretty short notice unfortunately. That's why the last episode may seem a little rushed to wrap everything up
Interesting fact: your thinking about the scar on her face, that was from a horror movie shoot incidence she did. The director of the movie was careless and forced her to bang on the glass so hard the glass shattered and almost tore her face apart. I think she filed a lawsuit? Not sure but either way I hope the director gets it.
They use sound frequencies to manipulate the world as well as other realities around them. It’s how they use “magic”. They have a specific set of vocal cords to do this. Without vocal cords they are left defenseless, the witch hunters in the show steal the vocal cords to use against the witches.
What I want to know is how many takes they had to do the singing scene because there is no way nobody burst in laughter during the first several takes. The director probably was like: "okay ladies, so all you have to do is slowly raise your arms and act like you are singing at a choir. No voice is needed because we'll adlib. Also, you girl, I want you to make a face like a horse."
This was a weird ass show. Every single time the witches got in trouble they could have gotten out of it with guns and explosives. Especially after the enemy started carrying devices that neutralized their voices. They apparently had no heavy vehicles, artillery, war planes, or a navy either? It doesn't matter if you can make a tornado by singing if those are used against you. Worst Army ever.
It would be very clueless for witches to use civilian military artillery, if what impressed civilians most was the destructive capacity of their songs. In fact, what could be more powerful than a tornado that can easily be created and controlled with your voice?
@@alexgeek358 My point is that a weapon to inflict terror is different than weapons of war designed to inflict casualties quickly. One is for scaring you and the other is for killing you. Once the enemy developed a counter measure they could easily deploy to the field they should t be surprised for 2 seasons every time the enemy used it or an improved version in every encounter. The answer is to arm the troops, not to require them to pick up a broom or go hand to hand to defend themselves.
Yeah but think about this. If witches became the primary military then modern artillery weapons wouldn’t have to be created in history. Since they would just use witches. And remember Camarilla disabling devices weren’t invented until the time of the show so they probably didn’t have reason to create non-work weapons until now. Basically, civilians relied completely on witches so they wouldn’t have the need to create such weaponsz
The series was very interesting to me. But it seemed to me that in the last season everything was very rushed. In addition to this, there were unfinished stories. I mean. Scylla killed Porter and nothing happened. The Spree killed both witches and non-witches (civilians according to the series) and they also did not have their punishment or at least their redemption. Alder returned from the dead; in what form and for a time? Oh really? Or are the scriptwriters and writers tired of it? and who is the "mother goddess"? Gaia? the Pachamama? Inanna? Why do they deny Christian God? I understand that the United States has had a problem in Salem. But that was more political decisions to usurp land than anything else. Why was that not reflected? and Alder, where did it come from? from Europe, yes. But was he from England? Did it have to do with druids? and necklace? In other words, they showed us that Raelle was the one who would change the course of the approaching war... and where did that end? I think there was a lot more to explore.
The mother is the mycelium that give witches their supernatural abilities. It doesn’t matter where alder comes from if that’s a where your asking? Your questions are phrased so weirdly. So lemme try t answer some of these Alder returns in a form made completely of fungus and mycelium that is able to shape and form her original body as the mycelium had her original body and was able to copy it The mother goddess isn’t from any of old folklore or current believed in gods. In this world it’s the mother mycelium. A large intelligent organism that spans and give witches their power First of all this is set into a. Different timeline and reality. Don’t expect history to line up until a lot before that moment so this question is irrelevant. Where alder is from? This doesn’t matter?? All we need to know is that SHE was born in a America that persecuted witches What do we need to know about druids?!? Why should the show care it isn’t centered around it. You’ve seen to expect too much of the show on other world building in which it already has done a creative job of it rather than it set on the main focus. Also raelle did change the war. She was the witch bomb, the key, that ended to war by forcing everyone to become a witch therefore making the Camarillas fight without a cause. I understand you wanted more on the spree but the center of the show was witches fighting each other when they should’ve been focused on the Camarilla who would’ve ended all of them. On top of that nicte Batan situation was complicated, the rest of the spree were to be found and were likely in hiding once they realized their leader was gone. Also Nicte Batans arc was the sprees redemption arc. She represents the spree and has saved the bellweather unit and the president (who she hated)
