Jim, if you're gonna mess around with the small cars, ignore the domestics and get into the older honda accords and civics. I had a 1998 Accord from 2002 to 2016 and spent hardly any money on maintenance. It blew a valve in the mountains in Ontario when I was driving from Alberta to Nova Scotia when it was way over 350,000km. Yet, it still let me continue my trip to Nova Scotia, then drive all around Nova Scotia before I decided to leave the car with my brother near Middleton and find other means to get back home. I would have driven it home if I didn't have two small kids with me. I abused that engine for over a decade, so no wonder it caved in. On that trip. it ran on 3 cylinders for well over a thousand kms. It did NOT die, though. Six months later, I bought a 2004 Accord for cheap. I've had it for seven years and it is still going strong. Way over 400,000km now. It has a bit of rust, but it is extremely minimal considering the age. Of course, I'm in Alberta (but grew up in Kingsport). But the engine and manual transmission will never die (knock on wood). I wouldn't hesitate to put firewood in it if need be. :-) Go Jim go.
Still waiting on you to get the Oldsmobile out can't wait to see it rolling down the road Jimbo just dropped in to say hello it's been awhile take care my friend friend don't work too hard
I helped an Uncle fill American Motors Rambler with White Birch at Deer Camp one year. He wanted it for "show" to put next to his fireplace at his home in the city. When he left Deer Camp, his car had no suspension. It was sitting on the rebound bumpers. ben/ michigan
Tarps over Cobalt's , string and tent pegs ! That way you could leave the windows down an inch to keep the air flow ! That's my story and I'm sticking to it 1
My Lord Jim. I hope that there is no one stealing from you out there like they do in CANTON OHIO USA. Nice work being productive and HELLO to LOUIE as well..
Jim I think you mean those cars hold 2 face cords. Certainly not two cords. A cord of wood is 4ft wide by 4ft high by 8 ft long. Those three cars couldn’t hold one cord. Maybe it’s worth building a metal roof on a concrete slab to cover your firewood if thats your primary source of heat every year. 😂
