www.withkids.or... - Robert Carlyle becomes a With Kids Ambassador. In this Part 1 of 3 video he talks about why he chooses to still live and work in Glasgow as well as his happiest and worst childhood memories.
I know he's a versatile actor but I will never forget him in Cracker. It was an incredible performance which perfectly fit with the times and his background. I also loved how he made the character sympathetic, despite the awful stuff he did. The script plays an important role of course but he really made me feel sorry for him because he was obviously not racist or awful before his dad died, but the complete grief he felt caused him to see the world as completely unfair and unjust, so he took it out on the first person who offered up the smallest excuse. It's genuinely tragic for him and his victim. It also made me sad because I remember being short of a a few pence at the local shop and they trusted me to pay the next day. Communities and trust like that are very rare now.
Bless his father, raised an amazing son who has inspired millions. All a person needs is that one person to push them, and I think we're all thankful for the impact Mr. Carlyle has on Robert. Cheers to you Mr. Carlyle and for "With Kids". Keep doing great things!
My heart goes out to Mr. Robert Carlyle. I am a very big fan of him. Such an amazing actor. He has true dedication in his work. I love the way he is just so open about his childhood. He truly is amazing. Robert, your wife is one lucky lady. She should keep you around because amazing ( and not to mention good-looking) guys are hard o come by now-a-days. Fell in love with you and your phenomenal way of being. Keep up the great work!
Robert Carlyle ~ a true, unapologetic Glaswegian. He's not the flower of Scotland, but he's ours and we love him! He and Super Ally, but I'm biased with the latter.
His voice is amazing! ❤I am Russian, and at some points I have difficulties in translating. But even when I do not understand what he is talking about, his voice still literally hypnotizes me. It will memorize like music. This man has gone through a lot of bad things, he talks about his childhood with real pain. God bless his father. 🙏🏻 I am sincerely sorry that he did not have a mother, it seems to me that this is a big hole in his soul. But I am sure that his beautiful wife, daughter and sons make him happy, despite the past.
Wow he is so open about his childhood. I had no idea. No one should have to go through that. I really admire him. He has a great personality. Brilliant actor. I'm a huge fan of Once upon a time and the character he plays (Rumplestiltskin). -love from Florida.
Although people who use caps to shout usually annoy me, I have to agree with you. He's not cookie-cutter attractive, his eyes are so expressive and show such depth that it is very sexy. On top of that he's a very genuine person and that just increases the attractiveness. He's a little over twice my age and I think he's one of the sexiest men I've ever seen.
I love him. He's so proud of being Scottish as well & He's such an amazing Actor. Normally I can't stand hearing Scottish accents on TV(because I'm from here lol) but he's just one that I can listen to all day and He was the right person to play Rumpelstiltskin :)
Once upon a time would not be what it is if it was not for him. He makes the show. I think he's an amazing actor as Rumplestilskin. I watch it for him only.
I just feel like he is a beautiful, passionate person, and he brings a real depth and complexity (the light and dark thing he was talking about in this interview) that is just so appealing. I can't hardly stand it!
Just watched the Hamish series and was taken with the originality and the compassionate emotions in the life depictions by the actors -- especially Robert Carlyle...missing Scotland...
Holy shit, I was jumping interviews form ouat and I wasn't expecting this at all. Carlyle is an amazing actor and he seems like a really amazing, inspiring person. I didn't know about this organization either! Great work.
"the rich bastard who threw the stamps out" i love how he can look back, and know that it was hard but still laugh. i love that! you are amazing, robert carlyle!
The actors from America need to do more things for young adults, teens, and kids like the foreign actors do. Bobby, you are very inspiring!!! - With love from Oklahoma!!:)
I agree with another person, he is a REAL sex symbol. He certainly has a way about him, no matter which character he plays in Once Upon a Time. Sure would like to meet him someday. He makes my Sunday nights!!!!!!
Aw=( Its actually interesting how similar his character in Once is to his father. Milah left Rumple and Bae and Rumple became the dark one. His mother left his father and him and his father had a nervous breakdown and was prob never the same.
I wish his character, Mr. Gold was real. I would fuck him up good. With a little magic potion. I AM MADLY IN LOVE WITH A FICTIONAL CHARACTER MR. GOLD! I LOVE YOU
Is there really a reason for that? For one, some people ARE hard of hearing so turning of the volume may not work. But besides that, he has a fairly thick Scots accent that many people aren't used to hearing. It's an absolutely lovely accent, but sometimes difficult to understand what he's saying.
