Within Temptation was offered to represent the Netherlands but they refused. Sharon did end up being in a jury picking up Dutch entry a year or two ago though.

I was there and yes, she was and the show was close to being canceled that morning! I would have been pissed having come from the UK to NL and standing outside for 7hrs to get front row! 😅

I remember when TMF (Dutch version of MTV) was still on tv. And when one of their songs came on my older sisters and even my parents would turn the tv louder. This is how i turned into metal just when i learned to speak.

I believe this song is 20 years old already. First song of them that hit the charts in The Netherlands. And probably the only symphonic metal band that ever was in the Dutch charts. This song was on the radio non stop. Ah.... Memories.

Yes, there are amazing renditions from Sharon, but the most remarkable is the rendition of Silvey with “In or out love”. This rendition is based on an other remarkable rendition from Sharon. Sharon has a collaboration with the best trance DJ Armin van Buuren. Amazing and there are 2 vid’s available 1 live and 1 dvd version. Enjoy

They’re amazing and I’m glad to see you enjoying it. Can I suggest song the other half (of me) from Black Symphony or Enter or the Dance (excellent) or Jane Doe (unique masterpiece) Those are their earliest songs, influenced by doom metal and they actually mix her angelic vocals with growls of their guitarist or guest growler. They’re beauty and the beast singing style is epic and very theatrical.

sfter 4 hrs of performing for this DVD production, Sharon finishes off with THIS song to end the show..... and to think she had lost her voice 3 days prior to this one off show and only got it back the morning of.. no rehearsals.

She was actually admitted to the conservatory for opera training but was very disappointed when she found out they only study opera singing so she switched to the Arts-academy within her first semester. So apart from these few weeks she really is self-thought. There she studied clothing design and management that she successfully completed But by the time she finished the band really started to get in to gear. She however used these skills in designing outfits used on stage. Beauty, brains and talent al in one gorgeous package. ;-)

I love Sharon but sometimes she sings so high and dances around so much that it's quite difficult to understand what she's saying. I mean it in the best way possible. She's such a powerhouse that sometimes she can't contain herself. Fortunately I know the lyrics but I hope you didn't have such a hard time with this one.

She didn’t, she’s singing in a healthier way. Have you heard the promised live? It’s even better that 10 years ago. She still teach the higher notes but her vocals are rounder and richer. She’s using better techniques and she certainly hasn’t lost her voice.

Have you hear her live recently? With healthy vibrato and rounded sound? I don’t think you have, her voice has only gotten better. Your assumption is based on nothing but assumptions and can’t be backed up by any fact. She hasn’t lost natural timbre, it’s matured and gotten better.

@@katepine3416 I agree with you. Last WT show I've been to was in 2018 and Sharon was amazing. She changed the way she sings but by that I mean she found better, smarter ways to reach those notes and don't get tired quickly. They played The Promise and Sharon sounded even stronger than on Black Symphony!
