Hey NL, you seem to be having some trouble with the pits. The way I've learned to deal with them is recognizing that walking alone won't make you fall in, so you can always run against the edge of the pit THEN dash across to guarantee that you make it across.

Hey NL, just so you know; your signature Arcana is inter-changeable with your Standard Arcana (Right Click), the only difference between Signature and Standard Arcana is that when your Charge (The blue bar under your Health) reaches full, the Signature gains an additional ability. (Also your character will glow white when your Signature is charged) One last thing: I definitely recommend testing out some of those Arcana/Signatures on those dummies, the Blue Orb in your starting home instantly charges your signature so you can see what it does!

Enemies take less damage from elements they have a "type advantage" against, but they take even LESS damage from elements of their OWN type. Fire > Air > Earth > Lightning > Water > Fire. So Fire arcana deals less to ice (water) enemies, but even LESS to fire enemies. Lightning and Air enemies aren't in the game, so no enemy ultra resists those elements. Also the first potion each run heals exactly 200, but they heal less each time you buy it in the same run.

If you pick up the blue orb in your house it fills up you ultimate bar so you can test it out before taking it into the run 👌🏼

Just made it to the second elemental boss and died, thought I was trash, but then I watched this video. Thanks for restoring my self confidence Egg :)

Btw first boss does 3 attacks then stops , second one 4 and third one 5 , so you should count them to know when to attack them and get the max damage

There's two npcs to the left of the portal that you use to enter the dungeon the guy let's you spend 10 gems to set the first boss to whatever one you last died to and the woman will give you 200 gold for 20 gems which gives you a pretty great start

Watching that signature charge go down without him using it is so painful

Tell NL that the clothes you buy give you stat upgrades, they aren’t just cosmetic

Love this game and I can't wait to watch NL get gaped by the last boss, anyone who remembers their first time knows what I'm talking about

FYI you can enter Earthlord's arena without triggering him so you can clear some trees which should always be top priority in that fight. Just stay as low as you can and use ranged attacks to clear the trees. Also you really need to pay attention to enemy patterns and only go in for the attack when they aren't glowing with super armor.

Ice seekers with ball lightning is a great combo. You freeze'em and then you charge up the ball. You one shot most basic enemies and the cc on the enemies is great.

Always remember, Egg... You can talk to Mim the Mimic to change your starting relic to further suit your build

Hey Nl, if you go to the market place, at the top right there will be a tailor who can give you certain cloaks for chaos gens, the cloaks are expensive but worth it in my opinion, I recommend getting valor, it increases health and defense. (BTW a couple of tips, when the boss is yellow that means he cant be stunned, after they attack they will be vulnerable, dodge until they attack, then hit them to stun them, and then spam your arcana. Try to fill all of your arcana slots before the first boss especially with the ground king. Finally try to get a relic on every floor, mirror shield is very nice.) Good Luck.

I played this game when it was new and I've been playing it more recently (updates have made it even better it's worth going back to, lots of qol and other things) Most frustrating thing in the world while watching other people play the game is watching them spam basic arcana while cooldowns are up, like sitting there struggling to close the distance on an archer with 30hp left, taking hits in the process, when you had a giant fireball to lob in it's face. This game is so much fun to play, give it a try for yourself and once the muscle memory builds up it's just so much fun and so satisfying

From 8 damage to 9 per hit is actually a pretty decent upgrade. It's basically 12.5% more damage overall, which is not too shabby.

I just love how in this game and Isaac you just like talk about random stuff like the whole time

when projectiles hit each other they deal damage to each other. this means that some spells can be used very defensively such as stalwart defenders and vortex tornado. earthen aegis is will also straight up block projectiles for its duration.

Bought this game last night and out 10 hours into it, loads a fun. Longevity will vary from person to person but until then you'll enjoy the time you spend. Got past the first two council members on my first run but haven't beaten 3 yet

The aqua basic is so good man. It's been an important part of a lot of my winning runs, and with damage up it can hit 15-20 damage a hit

The shop for upgrading your outfit only works when you have one with a benefit so if was a waste for you to use you can buy new ones in top left of hub

Fully Charged Signature Ball Lightning is actually one of the strongest single target Arcana in the game.

Northernlion's probably already figured this out, but the Council bosses always attack in sets of 3, 4, and 6 depending on the floor they're on. first set of floors, they attack three times, but pose. while posing, you casn attack and stun them. attacking any other time usually isn't worth it, especially not on later floors.

Within the first minute. Of course, Egg sings Aqualung. And, consequently, causes me to inhale coffee into my sinuses. -claps-

Amulet of sundering is pretty good. It looks like just a 1 damage boost, but most aracana are multi hitting. 3 hits of 9 on your basic is better than 3 hits of 8. And you get after images when you have a signature charge.

I'm usually a proponent and defender of the fact that NL is in fact on the majority of games that he plays. But missing 'press f to drop' two millimeters above his relic is difficult to defend.

You start with 4 types of arcana: basic, dash, standard, and signature. Each can be enhanced during the run to make them stronger except the signature, which is pre-enhanced at the start. Shuffle man and vampire doctor will NEVER take anything but a standard arcana; your basic, dash, and signature arcanas are safe (I'm unsure if the signature arcana can be replaced mid-run but I believe not). Shuffle man will take a random standard arcana, enhance it, and shuffle it in with 4 other enhanced standard arcanas. I don't know if he only takes unenhanced arcana, but it's a good gamble if you do it early on.

8 damage to 9 damage is still a 12.5% increase in damage, that's pretty good.

Yo having to turn you down on the audio wasn't so bad, sometime I turn it to max because other shit is going on and I need the Nlss to reverberating haha.

Egg, i strongly advice checking the top right of the main plaza, you should be able to get robes that buff your stats

Tip - get the pathfinder relic, learn some of your own combos, not great at the game but managed to get to the third boss at least 10 times with this method

use the relic that lets you keep your ultimate so you can save it for a time that actually requires it

I feel like NL should be dashing THROUGH enemies now that his dash actually deals damage when an enemy comes in contact with his path

NL arcana don't fit into slots. You can put any arcana on any key and move them around as you wish.

Buy new robes they grant stat bonuses. You must have some kind of crowd controlling arcana(water splash or something like that is real useful). I prefere the faster arcana for basic(ice dagger) and the electric dash seems really good. The merchants reshuffle their stock if you reenter the plaza.

Hardest part for me to learn this game is that dashing doesn’t avoid projectiles. Like gungeon

NL, buy the earth shield arcana and after that, buy the different outfits. this will really boost the outcome of your runs

It's sad that i actually can believe that NL hasn't figured out yet that you stun enemies when their yellow aura is off.

egg, you should only try and hit bosses when they aren't yellow, if they are yellow they can't be stunned by your attacks.

Hey Ryan you actually don't unlock Arcana while in a dungeon unless you get it from the Bosses, not including the mini-bosses

Wonder when egg will learn that trying to sneak in a hit during the big boss's combo is never a good idea. Gotta wait for them to stop glowing and then get the stun.

Finally, my daily dose

A little bit of help (if you need it): -When bosses and mini-bosses have a yellow outline, you cannot stun them -this outline disappears after every attack for mini-bosses -this outline disappears after 3 attacks for the first boss, 4 for the second boss, and 5 for the third level boss -in the very top right of the shopping area, you can buy different colored cloaks, they are not just for show, they have different effects and abilities that can boost ypur default stats, and purchasing them all unlocks something -when the blue meter becomes filled, you are able to use your signature, and it will drain rapidly after that point (unless you have the infinity marble) you character will also gain a faint outline -when in your house, picking up the blue orb allowes you to test out your charged signature -potions and orbs heal in percentages, therefore, having lower max health means that any orb or potion will also heal less overall (i.e. if your max health is 500, you will recieve approximately 25 from health orbs, but if your max health is only 300, you will only get approximately 15 from the same orbs)

Anyone else think the stage 3 mobs in this game are nuts?
