By the way.. Arcane Familiar + Best Friends Forever is incredibly silly. With no other companion it makes Arcane Familiar reduce mana drain requirements by 100%. Which makes mana star spawns and all other mana drain effects occur on every attack. I had it with Apocalypse.

You would've needed 16 mana for the other armor to be as good. You made the right choice.

Overall the run was tough because you had 2-3 blank perks. Some ideas to avoid in future: Could start with dice. Blue or obsidian dice would have been super strong there. You skipped one dice door for a +1 int I think. It was fairly certain you had 1-2 dead perks at that point so could prioritize dice super high. I think of perks as +50% damage if you get a good one, sometimes more, so hitting those is super high priority. Your dodging and aiming the final special attack 5 times in a row exactly was insane - as always!

If you ever see a slot machine, roll 7 times then bomb it before it breaks to get dice. Chance to break is 0 for first 5 spins. +10% per spin after 5.

Something I like to do in this game is having a weapon for bosses and one for room clearing. This run showed how you sometimes need this. Although some weapons are good at both

Tomes for clearing floors.. unless you happen to find a Toad Plague Scroll, the fastest boss killer in the game.

The better the luck, the better the rewards from a chest. They can end up dropping equipment along with consumables. Luck also does other things like the chance to trigger a 4th upgrade at the blacksmith.

24:20 You could have had a sick CoC run if you picked the other talent. Those legendary guns are fast enough for CoC, and the dark gun makes bosses take more damage from all sources permanently.

Also my commentary on mana burnout is the fact that you can't get mana stars which can be incredibly strong :3

I always feel like mana builds fall flat due to getting bad traits. Maybe some of the perks have weird tags that cause you to get weird combinations, when the game tries to give "fitting" builds

07:25 I think the fact is that all Scepters are beam weapons, and they also have the Channeling Weapon thing going on that is marked out on the side explanations (bibles and flails are also channeling, so every channeling weapon is an odd one). 08:42 OK, seriously? The only downside to burnout is you don't benefit from things that proc off draining mana. There are lots of effects that do something for ever X mana spent and those stop working in burnout.

I think, unless consumable, most of the pregame choices should be passive. I don't think the weapon mana accessory should have taken a spot. If you want to give the choice to remove them, have a special inventory slot that can only take the starting item, or an on/off switch

I've had my strongest run on the thief, but my third strongest on the wizard... The wizard is a magic character which inherently at base is good, I personally like the crit doubling as those are fun builds to me, but yet, I would say the wizard is better

the 20 dex gloves were a huge upgrade btw. 20 dex = 20 attack speed, 10 move speed, 60% dmg at S scaling, i think

Nah. By the end of the run, his gloves were giving 43% attack speed from crit scaling. His build did damage purely off stacking his ailements so 23% additional attack speed is way better than 60% increased damage

as far as i can tell mana burnout just dosnt let you mana regen until it Fully regens... it's more noticable when you have a ton of mana

Mana burnout just makes it so ur weapon won’t benefit from mana draining stuff until u let the bar go blue again

By default a weapon with mana draining has like a % damage increase per mana star u have

That is what I originally figured, but some commenters were telling me I was wrong lol. Oof, I will go back to assuming this until something makes it more clear.

@@adogewithwifi1652it's not per mana star. The base mana buff is a flat 20% damage increase. There is a trait that gives +10% top end damage per mana star to mana draining weapons if I remember right.

@@Retromation Mana drain does 2 things: 1) you get mana-drain stat buffs. Every character by default gets a 20% increase in damage buff. But there are better buffs granted by perks and equipment. It's a flat 20%, not per mana star, the per mana star stuff are traits. 2) it procs the "every x mana drained" effects. You start with one such effect which is spawning mana stars. When you are in mana burnout you lose both those things. Once you have extra effects from traits / gear it's definitely worth it to avoid mana burnout. In the early game it seems like a toss up. If you actively grab the mana stars it's kinda worth it, but the 20% damage buff alone is meh.

Yeah so to describe why I believe this run felt so weak, aside from the perks, the actual weapon having all 3 scaling's has greatly reduced base damage, You'll notice having weapons with single or double scaling just typically have way better literal damage than with all. Etc; To keep the weapons in balance they do that but it makes each stat point you get just directly less valuable to your weapons damage.
