Fellow NBC station WGRZ in Buffalo also used Edd Kalehoff’s “We’re 4 New York” as their news theme from late 1995 until 1998, when they replaced it with Gari’s “Image News”.
Rivaled only by UPN 9's theme (they were the ultimate black news station), but this closing theme is pretty poppin. WNBC 4 was the UPN of the NBC flagships. Add to that Al Roker, Sue Simmons. Only Reg Wells (another NY native) of UPN 9 gives them competition.
