She carried this interview. Helped take the attention off Christopher Lloyd and filled the awkward silences. He’s very much like James Gandolfini was. Shy and awkward. Artists at the end of the day. Not comfortable being celebrities. That’s the type of actors I love as they’re all about the craft and nothing else. They don’t take themselves too seriously and they don’t understand why everyone wants a piece of them. Humble and grounded
I'd forgotten how bad an interviewer Wogan was. He starts by insulting Mary, he then asks Christopher a series of closed questions (yes/no answers) and then awkwardly shifts the blame on to Christopher. Truly awful. I also remember when he interviewed Madonna and seemed completely intimidated by her. I'll have to look it up.
Oh my God! I cannot believe this is back on RU-vid! I remember seeing it on here years ago, then could never find it again and thought I dreamt it LMAO Christopher Lloyd is so cute and shy here! People are always shocked how different he is in real life compared to the doctor...but why would he be like that in real life? He's an actor. And very talented :)
I saw this when it was first broadcast. The day afterwards, I actually went to see BTTF 3. This is a terrible interview. Chris is very nervous here. I think Wogan mishandled it.
No wonder he specified in his movie contract that he would not go on talk shows to promote his movies. He must have been haunted by this horrible experience for years. Asking the audience if they recognize him? What the fuck.

It's abundantly clear that Wogan was unfit to be host of a talk show of that caliber given his inability to articulate questions clearly and structure an interview accordingly. It's as if he chugged a half bottle of whiskey and went onto the show completely unprepared.
Chris was very polite & doing it for the film but I dont think he wanted to be there, nothing to do with Terry who forgot the first rule of interviewing,especially children, Allow them a one word answer & thats all you,ll get!
Mr. Lloyd and Ms. Steenburgen Are not only fantastic actors but consummate professionals. Class acts, both. Wigan needs some training and quite frankly, basic manners. The idea is to make your guests feel comfortable And welcomed. I don't get the feeling that he's a bad person, just a bad chat show host
