Myron should have pointed out that even though she said she worked in trucking, she was an executive assistant, a paper pusher. She wasn’t actually doing the hard job of being a trucker. Girls do this all the time on this show, “I’m in oil, I’m in construction.” Though when asked what their job actually is it turns out it’s a desk job.

Being an executive assistance is remotely far from a position like an executive on a board. And once you reach the top, it requires even higher responsibilities and skin in the profession. As an engineer, there are levels in that career like many others; you make more money as you climb the ladder but it comes with a hell of responsibilities and competency. Smh.

@Miamillions The reason why I asked how long were you at that company is exactly the reason the other comment stated, if it is a family run business then most likely they are going to want someone in the position that olans to stay there and ride it out even when things get tough, that's most likely why they promote close family to that position, the fact that you were promoted so high up and then just up and quit on them most likely reaffirmed there decision! They way you look at things is it's all about you and you will bounce as soon as things get tough and you proved that by jumping from job to job. The first company I worked for the owner is a woman and she will jump in a truck when we a short handed and drive a full shift! She has her 2 kids working there and her dad basically family run and one of her kids is a woman as well and she basically is in charge of the office. What I'm trying to saybis it has nothing to do with gender your just wrong. This new company I am working for there's a woman her and she works hard, she also drives a brand new truck and does well for herself, honestly you play victim while getting all the benefits sorry

Having said that, it still amazes me that women see the guys in the C suite and say.. why not me and dn't think about how they got there. ARe they will to put in 80 hours a week for 20 years to get there, or risk their life savings on a risky investment? of course not, and we all know women are the 80% consumers so all they care about is now and spending that money, not investing

The chance you would become an Executive off an Executive Assistant is VERY LOW. Because typically its reserved for Family heads that will take over said company. However it is NOT impossible. You have several factors to account for. Does the next family head want the position? Can they even do the work? Will they get old enough to take over? What if they want to sell the company? What if your so god damn good at your job they see you as a potential candidate to take over it? Theres also the factor of shares, and other things. Getting a raw promotion to the boss is super unlikely and shes right, but she acts as if its actually impossible and thats false. Women also tend to get passed on companies more than men do because they tend to make better assistants to get the potential opportunity aswell.
