These are great boxes but they are not waterproof. I bought a pair for my front runner roof rack with really great brackets to hold them down. In the rain and when I opened them there was a small amount of water accumulated inside . The seal is not secure at the sides which lets water seep in. If you use them in the rain be sure not to put sensitive items like electronics in them.
Great overview! I use mine mainly for cookware as well, but I also keep one for crushable food items I take along and another for some other gear. Worth noting if you don’t know already, Front Runner also makes a taller version of the Pro covers so you’re able to pack just a little bit more AND they also have an array of labels you can slap on the boxes to keep yourself better organized without guessing what’s in what. One other storage option the company also provides that I’ve used for a few years is their Typhoon Bag.. I use this for the bulk on my clothing, one for me and the other for my wife. We have a flatbed on our Gladiator and with everything exposed when we don’t yet have a canopy to pack things into, I can attest to the quality and weather resistance of all the products. Highly recommended!
Thank you very much, you helped me decide if I was going to buy these or not..... I watched your video and bought two for our Rig. I also bought a set of Front Runner Stratchits to tie them down either in the back of our car or on the roof rack :) Cheers, Don, Perth W.Australia (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)
Wow, I actually dig these plus the price is good. I'd like to see one strapped down on a roof rack and hosed down though! Many boxes distort when doing this.
They are incredibly solid so I wouldn’t see warping be an issue. They make special straps to secure these to a rack. They can be found on their website.
I've looked at these because I have front runner racks on my tacomas cab and topper, also got the steel pro table with the table slide mounted under my rear rack. Front runner has great accessories but boy are they expensive. I dunno if I can justify $70 boxes. This video did help me see they are better than I thought tho!
@@Frontrunneroutfitters when my roof racks cab mounts had a paint job issue with peeling, 3 years after I bought the rack I asked for the color code to repaint them and instead front runner sent me all new cab rack legs. I still tell people how impressed I was with that level of service. 👍
Thanks for the review. I've been looking at these to mount to the roof rack of my Jeep because (like you said) the Roam boxes are just too dang expensive. I would be putting overlanding gear like recovery straps, tire gauges, etc. in there for easy access. I only wish these were lockable. I guess you can purchase a lockable mount, though, from what I see on the website. I might have to grab one of these and give it a try.
It looks decent enough, but I just bought a bunch of Husky pro store containers. I also grabbed some Plano Sportsman trunks and put a Frost King seal around the lids. I’m fairly sure I can talk myself into giving this a try.
The Frontrunner Pro boxe looks perfect, EXCEPT, it needs to come in a deeper size! We using the ubiquitous Costco bins for 20 years and find the size/depth is perfect. However, they are nowhere near as well made and sturdy, or water/dustproof as the Wolfpack boxes.
Nice review! I didn't want a platform or drawer system for my new 2022 4Runner. So after a bunch of research I picked up two of these. They look pretty nice. Not a real positive connection when stacking as I had hoped for. That being said... looks like you can pike a bunch of gear on top (or sit/stand on them) with no problems. I am probably going to run four of these flat to create a platform on top for pack, chairs and such. But all-in-all... very sturdy indeed!!
Nice. Idk if you ever looked at MTM, but they are water resistant and USA made.(not as heavy duty but less expensive). Usually for ammo, but they have some pretty large stackable boxes. I was looking for something like these but didnt need it so rugged.
I have the original wolf packs and I don’t like them very much. Lol. I find that having the latches on opposite sides makes accessing your gear very difficult in your vehicle. because the boxes are typically packed tightly against something, the latches are inaccessible and you pretty much have to take the bin out to access it. I would much prefer a hinged lid for my uses.
I've seen videos that they still leak. bummer. I wanted 2. i'll buy one for now and use it for dirty clothes at the end of a trip. not sure what else I really can deal with getting wet on a trip :(. it's too bad, really. U'd think they'd have a lid that would protrude downwards or something so to be more water resistant
These were sent for review after I found and contacted them. I only review stuff I personally research and use which is why you see more unique products on my channel vs the ones who review anything they get sent.
They do not. Which IMO would most likely get brittle or dirty anyway. The lip seals out well enough to keep dirt and water out. Not a drop got in when I soaked it with the hose.
Excellent!price point is great compared to others I've looked at but never came across the one u reviewed, so thanks for that, you do really well finding awesome new products gear amd such, keep up the good work dude 😁love watching,....
I believe there is a divider they sell although I think it’s just a loose divider. Nothing that like clicks in. Yes you can strap them down or they sell special clamps for using on a rack system.
@@livingsurvival Even there too much money just for a box. The price is high because one person jacked up the price than everyone else jacked up their price and just kept going. Thats the way it is with everything.
It's really a 22 Dollar box. People don't understand the higher the price is you less people will buy. The lower the price than people will buy more. If that box was 22 Dollars than I would buy like 4 or 6 boxes. So, I guess they lose out. Money is hard to come by these days and I'm not spending my whole paycheck for so plastic boxes. Is not you, I love your videos its the company's that are price gouging. Thats me and everyone I have talked to. Keep the videos coming.
@@SteelheadTed Its too much for one box. If I would buy some, I would need like 10 or so. 70 x 10 - 700 Dollars. See where I'm getting at? I have seen videos on how things are made and home much stuff like that cost. And the stuff they use is cheap. If Thay want people to but then have a better price. I'm not the only one who thinks that. If they lost me than they lost thousands of people. I showed 15 people the web site and the price and Thay WTF. No way Think about how much money there lousing. So, if the price was a lot better I would really buy like 15 of them. I guess there only for rich people.
