Screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto, the original creator of the Wolf's Rain anime, passed away on December 1 (2021) after a battle with esophageal cancer, she was 57. RIP Keiko Nobumoto, she is now in paradise.

The entire OST for this anime is one of Yoko Kanno's best works imo

I don't care what anyone else says, Wolf's Rain to me will always stand out as one of the greatest Anime series ever, and it will ALWAYS be my #1 all time favorite Anime series as well. =D

wolfs rain is so amazing, it's what brought me to the anime world, I highly recommend this to anyone! Steve Conte and Yoko kanno, perfect!

I honestly think there needs to be some kind of nostalgia anime year, where classics are brought back into light so the younger generations can experience them; not remakes, but the actual original series. It feels like some of the older greats that aren't too mainstream are disappearing into obscurity. I would love to see titles like Wolf's Rain, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Slayers making a comeback someday.

God. This anime absolutely ruined my 15 year old self. It left me with such an empty feeling afterwards. Like my entire being just disappeared into the world. It was my first ever experience with a post apocalyptic world where even though the world has already 'technically' ended, a big event finishes it off leaving only nothingness. Then the cycle happens anew, and a universe is born. I thank this show for sparking my interests in spirituality, post apocalyptic worlds and philosophy. There may be better anime out there, but this one will always be #1 in my heart.

This is one of the only songs I will sing around the house. I don't sing....... I don't care to sing.......... Yet I will sing "Stray" without a second thought. Wolf's Rain was the show that cemented my love for anime. So happy I own it now!

This was the first anime that I watched and it is one of my absolute favorites.

Finished Wolf's Rain hours ago and the way it all came back to this Banger _STRA-AYYY!_ opening at the end made me break into applause!!! The timing was Soo cool Kiba taking step in puddle, cut to credits and cue beloved opening song!!! GENIUS! Now want to be a wolf, form a pack and set out on a journey searching for Paradise....😭❤31.3.2023

I remember watching a lot of these shows in the 2000s on Adult Swim, it was my anime source as a kid and up into my early adult years. Cable TV was my only source of anime before internet streaming services even existed. Wolf's Rain, Big O, Inuyasha, Paranoia Agent, FLCL, Trigun, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Yuyu Hakusho, Outlaw Star, Gundam, etc just to name a few. Staying up late at night on many a school nights watching all these shows with my older brother was a privilege and a memory I will never forget. I still watch anime very much to this day, although mostly with the wife and our young daughter now.

This anime came out 20 years ago and it still looks fantastic. Dare I say, it looks better than most anime today.

It's a never-ending cycle. Darcia keeps infecting the world with his darkness at the end/beginning every single time. Maybe things will end up differently at the current time (the very last scene) because the setting is the same as the one in the OP where we see blue running in the night and kiba running

Saw this Nostalgic anime in Animax like 18 years ago ; I remember getting hooked on Wolfs rain , Get backers , Detective School Q through the channel. Back when Cartoon Network had Dragonball z, Beyblade , Duel Masters , Transformers Armada, Cardcaptor Sakura .

it's always a masterpiece if Yoko Kanno and Steve Conte work together. It would be great if they worked together again on something new.

You know in spite of Funimation's flaws they have done alot of good. They rescued many amazing shows and brought them to us at an affordable price. Wolfs rain, Nichijou, Code Geass and Cowboy bebop are just a few examples.

In the 28 years I've been alive, I've already watched a LOT of anime, but Wolf's Rain is (imo) a highly underrated anime as well as my #1 Favorite Anime. I remember watching it when it first aired. The story's confusing at first, but you catch on quickly. The characters are written so well and though it can come off as very subtle, there's a lot of character development in everyone. Especially Hige and Tsume. To top it off, the music in the show is just awesome. It ranges from very soft and heavenly to tense and badass while working so well with each particular scene. All in all, Wolf's Rain is a 10/10, in my books.

I was 8 or 9 years old when i first saw Wolf's Rain on Animax India, this intro was my everything and not to mention Kiba was my first ever anime crush (still is). Thoughthe show was not really meant for kids with it's deep story board but I'm so glad i watched this gem

damn... while im not the biggest fan of the show (id still give it a 7.5 out of 10). this opening gives me chills every time i watch it. the art direction, the animation, the music. phenomenal. a true masterpiece of an opening. don't think anything will ever top it.

I remember watching Wolf's Rain when I was in middle and high school :)! Wolf's Rain opening and closing songs were pretty cool. Also the characters were really interesting to watch the show.

This was one of the only animes that made me cry bittersweet tears at the end...

This op track never gets old. I like the line "I'm gonna live the life as I choose" since the characters in this show did just that but it could also be a take away for a real life lesson (that just shows how good yet underrated this show really is.) One day, I'm gonna finish this whether via anime or manga (I stopped watching itbecause I had other things to watch and as uplifting this story could be, it was kinda depressing but I need to finish this since like life itself, it's not about the destination, it's the journey getting there.

My 1st E-mail I ever made was Kibawolf_11. I'll never forget the earlier days of [as] & watching this, InuYasha, Cowboy Bebop, Lupin the 3rd... I have an odd memory to this song from Summer 2004, while staying at a hotel on a big lake with my family. I had [as] on & kept everyone awake to watch InuYasha. I was 13 & obsessed with InuYasha back then.. When Wolf's Rain came on, I was all ready to watch it. It was easing that homesick feeling. Just as this opening song came to an end, my mom turned the tv off with the remote just as the intro ended.. (where the white flower is in the bottom right corner)..i sat there in the pitch dark hotel room. I had to blink away that very image of the tv screen that burned into my vision. The ac turned off shortly after & I lay there. That weird little memory is stuck with me forever.

This anime is 18 years old this year...just let that sink in for a second.

I love this opening. And it's so nostalgic. A lot of Yoko Kanno series seem to use foreign singers (Steve Conte, Origa, etc). I think the mix of eastern and western influence leads to a nice blend.

I remeber watching this series back when I was in preschool! Yeah I was that young. I wasn't allowed to stay up late but after I got a TV in my room, I beat the system and one day on adult swim this show came on. My mom caught me and I got into trouble for watching such a gory & inappropriate show. But after my folks went to bed I'd still watch the show behind their backs. And I have no regrets of that what so ever! I still adore this anime it is my second favorite next to the GDW & GNG series. Such a gorgeous OST and amazing story. 10/10 IGN!

I absolutely love this opening, especially bcuz it seems lile the music and the animation matches up so the music can represent the natural sounds going on, like the person singing "oooo-oooh" with the wolf howling and the electric guitar riff sorta matching up with the rain falling in the puddle. It's so cool, it reminds me of the Bambi soundtrack in that aspect :D

The second this song came on, I immediately stopped what I was doing and listened to its hypnotic, rockin' tone all the way through. Never would've thought that Wolf's Rain had such as otherworldly, epic opening theme. Heard about this anime for quite some time but never really showed any interest... until now. Hearing this alone, just makes me want to start watching this series ASAP!
