Wolff Responds: Antisemitism vs Antizionism, Biden, Gaza and Universities responses (May 8, 2024) 

I was protesting at the university of Connecticut when our encampment was swept. 25 students were arrested, many of whom were also Jewish. Our protest was entirely peaceful.

Anti-genocide is not anti-Semetism. Genocide is anti-Semetic.

No country is exempt from criticism, that's just dumb. To be anti-genocide is NOT antisemitic. What Israel is perpetrating in Gaza is a crime against ALL humanity.

Thank you, Prof Wolff. As an 82 year old Proud American JEW, I say thank you again. Zionism is a 127 year old European settler colonial ideology. Judaism is a 5784 years old religion, tradition, the anchor for all western religions.

In the day and age when speaking truth can cost you your job, career or reputation, Professor Wolff has once again showed integrity for truth, justice and humanity.

If criticism of Israel is antisemitic, criticism of Iran is Islamophobic! Yet those who use that interpretation of antisemitism almost always cheer for more sanctions on Iran, let alone every word they utter in relation to Iran is negative and/or hostile.

Prof. Wolff, as always a voice of reason, and well thought out analysis. Biden's speech was possibly the most horrifying thing I've heard from a politician in my 44 years. The co-opting of opposition to Antisemitism as a defense for what is being done in Gaza is just awful to see. My understanding of "Never Again", is never again for the Jewish people, and never again for anyone else. All of the hate is just so pointless. No Arab is my enemy, nor is any Jew, or anyone else for that matter. Until we all stand together as one people, for each other, we'll never reach our true potential.

As always...Richard Wolff helps to articulate misconception and exaggeration.....what we are witnessing brake our hearts.with horror...so much so as the black and white images in ww2 ...thanks for your courage....and clear our minds!

They only wish to deprive them of their basic human rights, such as self-rule in their own state and freedom from oppression.” Though the appointment of the sadistic Ben Gvir as minister of National Security is about wishing the Palestinians physical harm.

President Biden's "position" on Gaza reminds me of the old Firesign Theater question,"How can you be in 2 places at once,when you are really nowhere at all"? In my opinion ,his obfuscation on this and other vital issues is going to result in his being returned to private life this fall.I hope he wakes up and takes the stand against funding the carnage in Gaza ,which will get the support of the Dem base again,and more importantly stop the brutal slaughter in Gaza.

Professor Wolff is truth telling and I support this discussion unequivocally. I expect nothing less from Professor Wolff in regard to Zionism and Antisemitism. We disagree on some things, but not on this! Thank you for this commentary.

It was from inception of abusing the charge of antisemitism to immediately disregard the charge as it was apparent it was a desperate attempt to stop the criticism of what Isreal was doing. Anyone that took it serious did not know the true meaning. Which means education is so important.

one of the biggest problems i have when discussing communism with people that are not proper comrades is that they keep comparing basic quality of life metrics of places like east-west germany, north-south korea, or taiwan vs china. the problem is that anyone with phone can quickly look things up that directly refute the one true philosophy as taught by karl marx. how do we conceal these differential outcomes from the masses long enough achieve power over them?
