I have some suggested resources if you’re not already aware of them: two of the best economic books imo to get you started are “Contending Economic Theories:...” by Wolff & Resnick (‘12); and “An Outline of the History of Economic Thought” by Screpanti & Zamangi (‘05). Then all of Marx’s economic works including Capital’s 3 volumes, Grundrisse, & all of Theories of Surplus Value. “The Deficit Myth” and other modern monetary books may be a good supplement

He wanted to teach. Money wasn’t the driver. That’s unfortunately a foreign thought to a lot of people. Its not a character flaw. It’s good to hear different opinions to counter your own version of reality - let two ideas knock each other out to see which is better. I still pick capitalism - I’m irritated when my withholding taxes are raise for social security checks when we all know there was no inflation this year. Both systems have advantages and disadvantages. Wolff knocks capitalism but doesn’t address the disadvantages of Marxism in way that is compelling to me.
