@@chazjohannsen or just skip the English all together and say, nein, mein freund. Neun! It's one of those things that sound so close to english it is intellible either way regardless
It’s still only TV-14. I think one reasons the writers have purposely had Wolverine in the background so far is because they were waiting for the robots because he can’t stab anything else.
@@YounghomieSmith right, and at time it felt kind of obvious and a little cheesy I think and I feel like they're trying to avoid that by just having him not use them until he actually can
I always find it odd every time Wolverine encounters a human he declaws and uses his fist. That always disappointed me then when I got older, understood why.
too slow for my taste. action scenes dont have to be perfectly fluid, and it only ruins the pace when im watching nightcrawler slowly teleport around, and slowly swing his 3 swords in defense from the slow attacks coming his way. why cant they put that level of effort into regular scenes? why do characters stand around and slide across screen like cardboard cutouts half the time, when they waste resources over animating shit like this?
Same! He’s such a great swordsman with his reflexes, his tail being able to wield a third sword, and support his weight, and being able to be behind anyone at anytime. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 taught me that.
Yeah, seeing how Nightcrawler simply glides through space was so friggin awesome hahaha The look back too, just shows how effortless it is for him. So bad ass...
This is a call back to the old X-Men comics, when Wolverine was fresh into the team. They'd always group him up with Nightcrawler, the latter helping him during his Berserker Rage moments and being the funny quippy Elf.
It's always funny to me that the people the grumpy guy with super senses gets along best with are the guy whose power creates clouds that smell like eggy farts, the guy whose power is cacophonous screeching, the girl whose power is close range fireworks, and the guy who turns into very reflective metal.
In the comics Wolverine and Nightcrawler are best friends. Nightcrawler is one of the few characters that can mess with Wolverine without Wolvie getting pissed off. This scene was awesome!
@@CallersBooks13 It was a cool scene, but '97 has done a better job of nailing the entire character than X2. We've seen his playful side, his religious side, his ability to serve as team counselor, and his swashbuckling prowess. Every other adaptation has failed at showing at least a few of those aspects.
@@tallwhiteninja No, no. Don't get me wrong, 97 is better. But, the comment said "finally" as if there was NO other good Nightcrawler work. Yes, 97 is giving Kurt a FANTASTIC spotlight. No question. But, that opening scene of X2 was so pretty.
@@directorforplastic7929 I do miss Storm's 90's composition. Hope we get a modern rendition of at least a riff like we did with Cable's theme at the end of episode 7. And I'm gonna need them to find the harmonica theme for Bishop at some point if he comes back
They know that people who watched the original series in the 90s are grown now and have most likely seen Logan so it’s ok to show Wolverine going full on berserker
It really felt likea temporal shift, something nauseating for weaker stomachs of those unused to it but beautiful and mysterious at the same time enough that you want to witness it over and over
@@nicoleb695 I liked the image of like squeezing and pulling. It made it look a lot more black-holish. It was awesome. And then his look back just showed the ease of it for him, which was awesome. Hehehe.
The sound effects are incredible. I kept pausing the scene with Nightcrawler and Wolverine fighting side by side, and each character is doing their thing, 2 against 5
I like how it gave a sense of the distance, and how intense it can be. There's a black-hole like squish and pull. It was so cool. And the way he looked back was just so bad ass.
Few people know that Wolverine is a highly skilled martial artist. He has beaten Shatterstar and Iron Fist, and he even beat Shang Chi in a comics skirmish. It's just the films and some TV shows reduce him to a character who hacks and slashes. But he is a highly skilled fighter. I am informing you of this information.
@@matthewheipp749 The Shang Chi wasn't a full-fledged fight. He beat Iron Fist in a sparring session. But he did beat Shatterstar. And yes, he is much more skilled than most people know.
Logan is not purely a savage when he is fighting. In the comics, he has beaten Shatterstar, Iron Fist, and even Shang Chi in a skirmish. When he defeated Shang Chi, Shang Chi was surprised by his discipline and he even quotes, "His savagery has not bred undiscipline. For a westerner, his focus and control rivals that of a samurai. Rarely have I seen the like." Wolverine is a highly skilled martial artist. However, most of the films and some TV shows reduce him to a hack-and-slash character when he is capable of much more.
But also looking forward to the next 2 episodes and season 2 and 3... honestly, I say we all fight to get the producer's job back. Bro brought us gold, nothing less. And they kicked him out. I know about "the why," but some things just outweigh others.
X-2 movie opening scene. His train scene in Dark phoenix And the comics are all sources of great Nightcrawler moments. But then again most scenes he appears in are great moments.
I like how they're using Vivaldi's Four Seasons for Kurt & Logan's fight, basically a throwback to Kurt's scene in X2, when they used Mozart's Dies Irae during the scene at the White House.
Shoutout to Cal Dodd and his voice acting here. I can really hear the Wolverine of '92 generally in his voice. Not that I doubted him for a second, nor would it have mattered if it really changed. He is animated Logan.
@@IhorEleven I can't believe I have to explain this... **Sigh**... Do you even know what a pun is? A Pun is word play that it's either spoken or written. In this case since Kurt is German by birth, the word No in German is pronounced as the number 9 is in English. So when he says to Logan "No my freund (friend) Nine" it's like he is translating the word No to Nein. Ergo it is a PUN! smh.
@@IhorEleven So your argument is still needless since it means the same damned thing. The fact that he says it in German or English which sounds similar means nothing.
You know, it just dawned on me how this show did something the original and most other animated shows could barely do: let Wolverine chop people up with his claws. They just did what most cartoons do and made their blood a different color, so its okay for them to be gutted and amputated.
@@senister14 I'm not judging. In fact, for what the animators had to work with in the original show, it was quite well done. It's just cool to see Logan literally cut loose in an animated show.
That's why in the original Ninja Turtles cartoon the changed all the Foot Soldiers to robots. That way they could hack and demolish them as much as they wanted lol.
His ability is him essentially going in and out of a different dimension. In one storyline, he was even traumatised by staying in that dimension too long, because the things that lived there actually had time to notice him.
Episode 10 is likely to suck...... Not for content or anything just because it's the last of the season and we'll have to wait a while before season 2. Last episodes of amazing seasons always leave a bittersweet aftertaste, especially when they themselves are amazing, just look at Invincible for example, they know damn fine the kind of cruelty they are peddling by giving us such amazing episodes and finales... It's evil I say, Evil! Lol.
The sword play Nightcrawler did, plus the back kick, then double slash across to land perfectly balance beam on the bed post, holy crap was that AWESOME!!!!!!!... and it all starts with a grin on Nightcrawler's face saying, your about to get SCREWED ... I love that guy. ❤❤
0:41 HE SAID THE THING!!!! I've been waiting for shoutouts to the game X-Men Next Dimension. One of Wolverine's battle quotes is "Got six reasons for you to walk away!" in that exact pose!
Man I love nightcrawler in this series he does so much more, in his limited runtime and showcases how good he can be both as someone to talk to and a badass in a fight
In the comics I believe the prime sentinels at least the first batch, erased the persons "soul" for lack of a better word. Jean tried touching their minds, and it came back as blank. If this show follows the comics (and they might not) those people were unfortunately already gone.
This is where context is important. When Rogue dropped Trask he was (as far as Kurt and the others knew at the time) unarmed, surrendering, and not an immediate threat. Killing someone who’s surrendered to you and is unarmed is wrong. This is an entirely different scenario.
When I watched the episode, I thought the guy at 1:43 Wolverene stabs was doing something to him, but rewatching it I realized we were being given what it looks like to be teleported by Nightcrawler, it's so cool. Marvel has been dog-water lately, but they really swung a home run with this show.
Yay! A wolverine and nightcrawler tag team match up against an army of humanoid sentinels with swords and claws slashing at every sentinel! Snikt!! Let's go bub!
Absolutely love how fucking feral Wolverine is in this. Down to the animal sounds he makes and everything. Dude must be legitimately scary to a lot of his enemies. This deadly, unstoppable, tiny rage monster.
To everyone who made this show. You absolutely nailed it. This is the most fun I’ve had from an animated series in a long time. We are being utterly treated every episode.
Finally, Nightcrawler. Not what or who we’ve been getting in past animations and live action, but Nightcrawler. The one and only. What a joy to see him on screen in comic book Nightcrawler fashion.
OMG, the idea to show us what it looks like inside of Nightcrawler's BAMF is friggin AMAZING! min 1:40. Thanks to the whole team working on this show!!
What makes it awesome is that this isn't a random pairing. For a Nightcrawler, Logan was his first friend from X-Men and they formed a deep spiritual bond in that episode of the OG show. It's awesome to see them fighting to the end together again.
Both the animation and soundtrack are impeccable in this episode, the action sequences are super fluid, and they don't distort the characters, this is very rare
God it’s so cool seeing my two Favorite X men Fight together in such a badass scene. I love how effortless this fight is for nightcrawler and I also love that Wolverine sounds like a Jaguar really brings out the animal in him.
I'm rewatching this scene and the more times i see it, even though I know the outcome, the more I get chills. The quality of animation, the tense BGM, the details of Logan and Kurt fighting back to back and then Kurt teleporting the sentinels away from Rogue, everything is amazing.
While it has been refreshing to veer away from Wolverine do we can focus on Cyclops and other characters, it was GOOD to finally see Wolverine let loose. And Kurt. My god. As much as I miss Gambit, Nightcrawler is an amazing addition to the team.
