I just got a repress of this, the clanging guitar strums near the beginning are not nearly as loud as they are in this video. Is that just due to the quality difference? Weird

Definitely not Northern Soul, Northern Soul is the name in Britain given to up-tempo motown/soul music from the late sixties to early seventies because people from northern towns would turn up at record shops in London asking for all these incredibly obscure records and then dance to them all night hopped up on speed.
