Bro... 130kg is 286lbs. I'm built like a tank 6-2 at 245. That guy is MAYBE 220lbs. Also far more than 15 in attendance. The issue is more likely the fact that she's a twig with zero neck muscles. Stage diving happens all the time and I have never seen shit like this happen across the 40-50 metal shows I've been to. Freak accident for sure.
Trophy eyes is gonna be donating a lot more than $5000 dollars. That girls medical bills will exceed half a mil. Lawsuit incoming. She has no choice, she has to pay her bills.
The venue is actually really strict about its no stage diving policy because a guy got paralyzed there at a Terror and Trapped Under Ice show 10 or 15 years ago. Bizarrely, his name was also Bird.
I feel like it shouldn't be the responsibility of other people to pay for these medical expenses, doesn't the group have insurance to cover this kind of thing? I mean if I work cleaning windows and I'm insured for like 5 million in case I damage property then shouldn't a person who performs in public have similar coverage?
@@CinemascapeReviewthat is absolutely not the same thing as small business insurance. When I had a photo studio and I had models in my studio, I made sure that if something were to happen to one of those models, their medical expenses would be covered up to $ 1 million and that was something at the time like $400 to $600 a year... I absolutely full-heartedly believe that any one who is making a profit off of interacting with the public, as bands do when they have shows most definitely should have small business insurance to cover things like this. Also though, I'm pretty sure Mohawk place should have insurance to cover their patrons since I'm guessing there was a cover charge and therefore you not only get to see the bands but you got a safe place to interact with those bands. This is my first time hearing of this specific band - as a result of this event but anyone in their right mind should be able to tell that Mohawk plays unless it's absolutely packed and eat out you can read the crowd you give warning or I don't know there is communication that happens when someone crowds surfs.. To wrap it up though Mohawk Place absolutely does not seem like the place to crowd surf!!! Unless it's packed and people are holding up their hands for you to do it and you can actually read body language, which obviously this person cannot read at all because they just slammed themselves into people. I know that bad stuff happens and yada yada yada but also like read the room and maybe don't jump on a little skinny girl maybe jump on like bigger people or something you know like read the fucking room douchebag. I'm sorry but it's also it's not the venue to crowd surf and there weren't that many people there are you kidding me that's just total incompetence and yeah this is definitely feeling like it could be a multiple lawsuits because it's negligence on his part. They literally said she's breathing on her own so maybe break your spinal cord douchebag you know I really hope that the 42nds of whatever the hell you thought you were going to get out of crowd surfing was worth putting someone through the physical pain in English and struggle that they have ahead of them with all their family members because this is for life so I really hope that 5 seconds of leaping into the crowd possibly one second I don't know was worth it!
i heard about this story but actually seeing the video, i dont really understand his plan here. a small indoor gig is not exactly the setting for crowd surfing.
One time a guy crowd surfed at one of the concerts I went to in college. When he got on top of my friends and I, we pushed him over the railing and security escorted him out. Lol! Crowd surfing is stupid, annoying, and as we see here, it's dangerous.
@@user-jy5xg2qe1ocalm tf down . Ppl go to punk shows knowing the risk. Should the band and singer pay up for some treatment yes. Which they already started doing. Shit like this happens. Grow up mental midget
There's always a possibility of healing enough to walk again 🙏 One real life example: Japanese pro wrestler Hayabusa. A botched acrobatic flip from the ropes paralyzed him for over a decade. By year 13 he was walking with a cane but sadly passed away not long after.
Big time tragedy. I hope for healing and the best possible outcome for her. Been going to shows for well over 20 years with stage dives, but nothing like this. Seen some close calls and a few bad outcomes. I see a lot of comments saying ban stage dives/crowd surfing because it's dangerous. This instance...the seemed out of line as it didn't seem like the sort of shows for stage dives. That said, banning every dangerous activity is a little nutty. People get hurt and die doing all sorts of things. If you want to ban every activity leading to someone accidentally getting hurt you're going to have to ban pretty much every sport. Any live music that you're not sitting in a chair. Driving. Eating. Drinking. Walking. Who decides where the line is? The participants? A giant vote? The government and politicians?
I once dropped a dude on the fence on his back on a drop kick murpys concert. he shouldnt have kicked and been as sweaty or not wearing a helmet or a something us guards for the band could get a hold on... shits get crazy in crowds.. and lifes not that predictable.. After the show he came up to me and told me to get some gloves, we huged and kissed. We are now married and have 9 children. God bless yall...
Band ignored no stage diving policy in place when 15 years ago the same thing happened at the same venue during a Trapped Under Ice concert. Intentional or not, those who injure are on the hook.
