When you have done 10 or 20 years more growing up then maybe you will have a little more kindness towards those who are less well off. My grandma grew up extremely poor in a home with no indoor plumbing until 1985 and as she used to say: Keeping a place clean and picking up your trash doesn't cost anything. Listen, I am have way too much knowledge about drugs and drug culture. I was raised by an addict and I have a child and a sibling who are addicts. In fact, my brother died of end stage alcoholism. But I’m here to tell you that this war on drugs crap is not working. There are too many problems with it for me to name, but the biggest one is the criminalization of the DISEASE of addiction. Ok so it’s not a pretty disease and there are choices involved that put you there, but so goes cancer. If you would eat better, exercise more, stay away from cigarettes and all of the pollutants maybe you wouldn’t get cancer. When someone gets melanoma from too much sunbathing in their youth no one says oh they are just a drain on society, throw them in jail. It’s ridiculous how we treat our own people. There’s no grace or kindness left in this country.

It's a fucked up system. Let's say you get pulled over for speeding, and the cop informs you that your license has been suspended because your last child support payment was late, or you let your insurance expire, or some other poor folks problem. So the police keep your physical drivers license so that you can't say that you didn't know you were suspended the next time you get pulled over. Now you lost your job for missing work that day and not being able to drive to work any day after. So now your court date has come but you have no money to pay a fine, and couldn't drive to the courthouse even if you did. Now after all that you need to go get a new I.D. because they kept yours. But you can't go to the DMV because you missed your court date, so now have an active warrant..... That's how poor people end up without I.D. in this bullshit system we live in!

I suggest a second job, don't speed, cook frugal meals and the person will be able to pay child support on time and get minimum insurance to drive. Life is not easy when people have children before acquiring a marketable skill set, as in the scenario you described.

No because our tax money pays for those lands, and would you want your house to have some piece of junk sitting in it's yard for 90 days? If you pity them so much ask yourself would you feel safe moving them in with you or allowing them to live in your yard, and if not then stop being such a bleeding heart for druggies.
