EXACTLY! Facebook is doing basically NOTHING to stop these scammers, and the scammers have infiltrated many pages. Facebook needs to step up their game, or upgrade their, "standards."

Yep, got the same reply from the Facebook bots stating that the posts are fine. On the other hand the phishing attempt is so obvious you are pretty foolish if you fall for it.

We use social media to keep in touch with our family and close friends, and to share photos. If you use reasonable care, and are moderately skeptical of ads and phishing emails/texts, most experienced adults can safely navigate the Internet. Of course, the platform "owners" can (and should) do more to protect their users.

I've done that, then IT told me "you really need to click on that link and get the module done before the deadline 😂

My job said the same to me that i didn't click to confirm my status and they tried to suspend me. I said that text was from a random # with a link on it, if i would have clicked on it and got a virus, you would have suspened me, now i DON'T click on it to keep from getting scammed or a virus and you want to suspend me for NOT clicking on it.... WTF do you want me to do ????

I had an “IT person” call me about a possible issue. I heard the accent and then got extremely rude and insulting with him - then hung up. I realized later that our company brought in a group of foreign IT workers to save on costs. My bad.

Facebook doesn't care or they won't get back to you until a few days later when the damage is already done. Simple fix: Don't use Facebook. You won't miss it. It's a mindless waste of time app and not worth the privacy risk.

NO it isn't humanity. It is the usual minority of the world population that creates destruction in the majority. Just like other problems. The minority are racists, but Media imposes racist ideas that all white ppl are racist, and other examples like terrorism etc

I work in cybersecurity. You’re exactly on the money here. This principle in the industry is “trust but verify”. If you’re dealing with an honest person, there will never be any issue with verifying what you believe you’ve been told. Only a dishonest person would disagree with that.

A few years ago an old tv movie popped up on RU-vid and I commented how much I loved it as a teenager and about how all the girls at school loved that movie too! Then some guy asked for my email in the comments because he wanted to talk to me! I gave it to him and we chatted for a few days then all of a sudden he wanted me to send him a picture of myself, but I told him no! Then he sends about twenty hearts and flowers emojis and starts saying how beautiful I was and that he loved me so much! I just said that was a lot to send me in just a few days and how did he know I was beautiful since I refused to send him a picture! He kept up the saying "I love you" in his reply but I just blocked him! Then someone read his response to me months later and told me he was a scam artist and the picture he used wasn't of him and was stolen! I thanked her but told her I had blocked him months ago! Social media is full these creeps!

Duh!!🙄 The person who warned me about him, she didn't know I'd already blocked him, only wanted to protect me from a scam artist! I only emailed him for about two weeks, and then I got a weird vibe, so I stopped! So, what's up? Are you ok?

Pssst - deleting a social media app is as effective as a smoker putting their cigarettes in the next room and thinking they’ve quit. It takes 30mseconds to reinstall the app, and you’ll be logged in and ready to roll. I actually DID quite Facebook - it took weeks of effort and waiting

There are good things on Facebook. I follow a lot of reputable, dog and horse rescues. I don’t follow any people related things.
