BELLFLOWER - A female driver was trapped for about an hour after slamming into a moving big rig dump-truck. The driver, on camera, said he was travelling 55mph when he felt the crash and his truck start to slow. Witnesses told the big rig driver the Honda was travelling at least 100mph when she struck him. The Honda started to catch fire per CHP CAD. The car was stuck under the truck and the driver was pinned under the dash. LACOFD used the Jaws of Life to free the victim.
The dump-truck was hauling 24-Tons of human waste per the driver. No leaks to report at this time. The driver of the Honda was transported in critical condition.

I was in a crash 25 years ago where they had to use the jaws of life to get me out of the vehicle. I had a broken left leg, broken right foot, a broken right knee and massive soft tissue injuries. It took 17 surgeries to put me back together. I was blessed not to have had any internal injuries. I hope this woman is as lucky as I was but, even then, she’s got many months of recovery ahead of her. God help her if her injuries are worse.

I've often wondered what the cost is of cleaning up after a crash like this...all the rescue agencies involved, the heavy equipment required to cut people from the wreckage, lifting and removing the wrecks, traffic managment etc. Considering this is just one crash, in one city and there are dozens like it on a daily basis throughout the country, the sum must be astronomical!
@aleksandersuur9475
@aleksandersuur9475 3 года назад
The cost really doesn't boil down to per crash. It's in how many first response teams you maintain on standby. It's not like you could close down the fire depots and ambulances if there were no crashes, you would still need them just the same for other emergencies.

I heard someone tell you not to ever “zoom in on stuff like that”. Why not? I’d want to watch a video of myself of what happened exactly and I also think that people need to know exactly what’s happens if they’ve done something stupid. I think our society try’s to protect us from ourselves waaay too much. Maybe if people saw the exact outcome of something, they would think twice before driving without following the traffic laws. Or companies should see exactly what they’ve caused if it was a mechanical error. Last if you don’t want to see stuff like this then don’t watch!

I remember this day me a my cousin pulled over right after it happened and broke the back glass window and my cousins friend cut his arm on the glass once we broke the window to open the car door, we opened the door to make sure the person in the car was still alive because she was laid out on the passenger side but she was unconscious all bloody from the impact. She was pend from the door, wheel and the bottom of the floor thaas pushing up on her legs. It took her a while to come back she was asking us to take her out but told her help is on her way. Once the CHP got there he gave us a fire extinguisher just incase the car got on fire while he was trying to talk with her. The first chp officer was cool but the second chp officer was being a bitch and getting all aggressive with us getting in our face telling us in his exact words " get the fuck out of here". We told him we where the first one there to help her out and then the first chp told him we are the ones that called it in and was helping him till the fire department shows up but he still told us to get out of there. The first chp apologized took down my numbers and gave us a call the next morning.

I doubt she was texting or on her phone doing 100 + mph. People usually drive like that after a fight with a partner or breakup, possibly even feeling suicidal.

It makes me wonder how many lives have been saved by the jaws of life? It is amazing how they can extract people from the wrecks. How many died before the equipment they use today?
