@@Alizudo Well, I mean, this kind of animation takes more time, and working as an animator is very hard since you have to meet deadlines, so the animators would not make too many movements But this animation itself probably took more long than it did for the original scene, so they did their best But, this scene was reanimated really well with exaggerated expressions that honestly made me laugh so hard

If they ever did a style shift gag this is absolutely how I would imagine it happening.

@@329link They did style-shift gags allllllll the time. cuts to stop motion, cuts to hyper-detailed background artist renditions of characters, cuts to CG, cuts to the voice actors IRL. C.H. Greenblatt was a writer on the early seasons of SpongeBob, so it makes a lot of sense.

@@Smurfman256 I meant specifically art style shifts. Like, how the 2D art is drawn. Though they probably did a lot of those too. Really chowder had a little bit of almost every kind of comedy didn't it? Except maybe political humor, but thank god for that.

​@@CeHee123 Then again, this is from Chowder's perspective. A. He's canonically a scatterbrain, and B. He admits afterwards that he embellished the story slightly (by admitting that he wasn't _that_ cute). Therefore, for all we know, his recounting of that story might not have been accurate.

@azazeltheundyingdamienkali5700 Mung also once replaced him with a new apprentice (Powder) without even trying to find him. Look, there are plenty of moments when does care for him, but there are also plenty where he casually disregards his safety. Either way, I still love his character. He made this show.

Someone said they could see this style shift in the actual episode, and I can too. Watching the original scene, Mung was WAY too underanimated for his voice performance!

TV animation cuts a lot of corners to make it cheaper, especially because of computer aided 2d animation tools, and I think it's such a shame because they often lack a lot of expressiveness that's so fundamental to animation

It makes it EXTREMELY easy to animate by doing that, as you don't need the patterns to follow, and you only need to animate the clothes outline.
