I think you should do a reaction on the movie Forrest Gump, especially pertaining to the relationship between Forrest and Jenny. More and more guys have called out Jenny for what she was. Forrest poured his heart out to Jenny while she goes on a Carousel binge, getting abused by Chads in the process. But when she finally hit the wall(i.e. caught an STD), she went back to Forrest, spent the night with him, got pregnant, and told Forrest the child was his(I never bought that for a second the child was his). Arguing's fine as long as it's constructive. I argue a lot, but it's generally to make a specific point, to hash something out, or to have some fun (I've argued young Earth theory a couple times for the hell of it). Women don't really argue because they don't think you can win. They don't want to hear another perspective, they aren't trying to figure something out. They just need you to "shut up and listen," as the Feminists say.
My last long term relationship I was with an older single mother. I played Ice hockey and made some really solid male friends I played with. I just remember her always trying to get involved, and in a way she tried to make friends with them so we could all hang out. Whenever we did get together without her she would constantly be texting me. It came to a head when I literally told her these are my friends not hers.

I have to smile as there was a woman in the comments on Bjorns video *arguing* that women did not behave this way and it was personality and not gender. I was too polite (old school Englishman here) and, these days, too experienced about internet 'conversation', to tell her to her 'face' what she was doing ... but I thought it :D EDIT: As to living life alone or in an 'unquiet' relationship, I was one of those blessed by what all around us saw and envied as a perfect marriage. That decade was pure bliss and we were parted not by any problems between us but because cancer came for her and stole her from me - something I could not defend her from or fight off. Before she passed she had me promise I would not spend the rest of my life alone and would find someone else to love me - and I have tried ... and it has brought me nothing but unhappiness and zero peace. I should have known as it took me twenty five years to find her, why would I think that there would be another true woman out there for me? EDIT 2: Just to say too that altho' I have sincerely tried to fulfil my promise to my wife, I have to confess that I don't want a 'replacement', I want *her* - so I wonder if mayhaps I am *too* demanding about how much peace will suffice. But still, in the end, I have spent more than a decade in grief and it is showing no signs of ending - in large part because my wife, who knew me very well, also had me promise that I would not do anything "stupid" to rejoin her before my natural time.
You need not find someone, you were already blessed with having a great great human being that near none of us will ever get to love. Your years you did get are special, if a good women finds you, let it. But I would not spend time and effort looking, relish what you had and enjoy every day in her name.

If you ever see this, the trick is to say it's other women and she's an exception, then guide her through the process of how it would feel for her. For the majority of women, whenever they see something talking about women they take it as a personal attack. You have to back them out of it and then point out that this is common and she's probably seen it her entire life. Generally at that point, they agree. Unless they're actually for this kind of behaviour and attempting to excuse their own.
For what it might mean, let it be as it is now. Sounds like you had a wonderful life with her, and you still carry it regardless of where you are now. While it may be painful, those memories are worth keeping alive for as long as you are. While you may have pain, you at least still have this moment as it is. Nothing's truly forever, at some point this too will pass. Enjoy what you can of this ephemeral moment of your life.

Had a Christian woman keep repeating I was a mysoginist yesterday - in church. She had ghosted me weeks earlier and I had left her to it and done nothing, so she came up to me to apologise. To be clear I had told her I had no interest in looking for a wife, so her ghosting me simply cannot have been due to me creeping her out etc., I'd made no effort in that aspect. I would not allow her the last word on that and said "I am not a mysoginist, I am a realist". She kept saying it, so I just said "Anyway, I need to get off before the rain gets any worse" and left. Obvs. this kept ringing around my head all evening, until it hit me, she was playing the classic femin1st ploy of "I'm sorry, but you were wrong". There is NO POINT engaging at this stage, MANY churches have been infiltrated by femin1sm and I blame it on weak men!
As I get older, my bandwidth for drama becomes less and less. Work gets harder and harder every year and is a stresser. I am doing everything I can to compartmentalize and not bring it on anyone else. The last thing I need is someone not taking care of the house, preparing meals, manufacturing arguments. As I transition out of a toxic relationship, there is no money for the peace I have at the end of each day. I do not want to jeopardize this, and if I sense that it is with somebody, I will decline going further down that road. I would like to find my counterpoint in the opposite sex, but not at the expense of peace at the end of the day.
Living absent of a woman in the home means I can live on my yacht, have motorcycles and classic cars. I can do what I want when I want to. No neighbours, no power bill, no lawns, just peace. In NZ, the house was the woman’s domain and the guy got the garage. Well here the garages are being converted to rooms and kids aren’t being taught garage skills as the dads are not in the picture. Young people today don’t know the difference between a lathe and a mill let alone how to use them or maintain their own vehicles. The death of the home garage is symptomatic of the death of the family.
I have two sheds that are wired and finished. One is my woodshop, the other is my man space I call my outside office. I can walk out into the peaceful back lot (an acre) that I landscaped with a dry stream bed, about 50 tons of large rocks and boulders and 1500 feet of paths that wind in and out of trees and other native species.. It's desert and so most of it is dryscape. It is full of small creatures, and is so peaceful and quiet that it might as well be a small forest. I can sit on my back patio and look out and what I see are healthy trees and bushes. There's even a bench on an island in the dry stream bed where you can sit with a drink and just enjoy the sunset. I worked hard for 15 years to create all that from an empty desert lot. Now, forced to retire from work I loved for 40 years, I can immerse myself in peace, just by walking out the back door. Neither my wife, nor I, invite people into out yard because it is ours. It is almost magical in its ability to quiet the racket the little voice in our heads insists on prattling. Peace.
I've been friends with two fellow men since the 2nd grade. They are like brothers more than friends, and they're a crown jewel among my life's accomplishments. And make no mistake - friendships like that take work and they are an accomplishment; it doesn't happen by whim or accident. Women around me have always marveled at this like its damn-near a miracle, which really betrays how little they understand men. Rather, I think they believe deep down that we're all heartless, violent barbarians.

The other thing women don't realize they do is push men to spend less time with them when they actually want their man to give them more of their time. As men we give our time to those who appreciate it the most. If we're appreciated more at work than at home then we'll put in more overtime. If friends appreciate us more than our gf, then our friends get more of our time. We go where we're wanted.
Men that struggle the decades of a marriage with little or no intimacy are proof of a loving man. They are neglected and unappreciated men. @@spaceranger7683 if the writing is on the wall then you dont have to get blindsided, quietly move your chess pieces around the board, keep up the act that you are oblivious, hide stuff, move stuff to another location such as a storage shed that you lease for a few years, organize all your papers, consult with professionals quietly, have a bugout bag ready, they usually dont file and pull the plug until they have everything ready to go, they can craft and plan for many many years up to a whole decade. Meanwhile you will have to walk on eggshells but be smart and dont provoke and keep your cool, dont get too attached to your kids because its very possible you wont be living with them down the line so be mentally prepared when it happens. Also keep in minds that kids eventually leave the nest and do their own thing so keep that in mind too that they usually dont want to be living with you for the rest of your life. They eventually want to be their own boss and thats what we want anyways =)
Hey FFE, I think its incredible that women will use conflict to resolve issues or get attention(often manipulation) when just being vulnerable or honest about what you need will get you love and support instantly from a good man. Men feel so good about themselves when they have had the opportunity to protect or support someone when they are not a their best. I agree with you on the brotherhood, his channel can be that for other men who have not had the opportunity to sit with other men to gain this advice. I had narcissistic parents (both) so I had to invest in myself to survive, build the resilience and listen to wise people like him to build a healthy world view. Building my own inner peace has been a lifelong journey. I am now a mental health coach resolving my inner issues from narcissistic abuse resulting in a long term of isolation. Due to this I have skipped the relationship side of life completely now turning 40. I suppose I can feel lucky in a way to have dodged a bullet by not making compulsive decisions in my youth. Will take on the advice in vetting people strictly to maintain my peace, I have paid a heavy price to get it from my past history...

I feel like Bjorn's video is an expository on what King Solomon wrapped up in his observation: “Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, than in a house shared with a contentious woman” (KJV). I learned that in church as an 80's teen and it went right into my sifter and has shown its value: have to find out if she likes to create strife...and most of 'em do. It seems like women feel neglected if their man doesn't show them where his boundaries are once and a while, so (among other reasons) they have a need to push the boundaries to see if the guy cares enough about her to enforce them. Contain the crazy. Kind of primal. But seems to be.
The lie is that talking it out makes it better. That is a twisting of the truth, as all the best lies are. It's not TALKING IT OUT that makes it better. It's the UNDERSTANDING between eachother. Which, indeed, can often be via talking. But often can also be just a quiet shoulder to stand next to. Two guys at the fire sipping drinks. "How's things?" ", the wife." "Ah, yeah." Understanding without needing to talk it out. Understanding and respect for the other is what's actually needed. Talking it out is only 1 method, and often overused. Keep in mind that respect for the other is ALSO to help achieve peace.
Watched this and that guy is right. We want peace. Being single is such a great life, peaceful and it creates so much freedom to focus on work, hobbies, nature, music, hiking, exercising..., and also possibility to invest and build finances. All this would be wrecked by a woman. I'm a single dad and has been single for many years and intend it to stay that way!

Unfortunately despite having many female friends and having work with many wonderful women, my experience with women since my teens has turned me off ever having a relationship. I am very easy going, work hard and respectful of everyone. Peace is what most of us guys love and need. Everything this guy from Norway is saying. Erin, you mentioned chatting calmly around the campfire...so on that topic...I served as both a Cub Scout Cubmaster and Boy Scout Scoutmaster. On campouts with the boys was always an assortment of fathers to help with transportation, supervision, etc. After the boys went into their tents for the night, the menfolk continued their chats around the campfire. These chats began with the boys included. Any topic was open for discussion and this is one important way for the boys to learn about being a man. There was important bonding between the boys and the adults. This is how things get passed down from one generation to the next. Lately, society has tried to dismantle the Boy Scout movement.

I remember a girlfriend passionately complaining to me about something that happened to her at work and how she felt wronged (it wasn't a serious problem), when she told me what happened I felt she was in the wrong but I knew not to tell her, it was better for her to vent her anger and frustration, if I had told her she was wrong it would have been bad for both of us. The anger passed and we carried on with life. Sometimes saying nothing is better for keeping the peace, I was thinking of the future, not being right for that moment. Doing that wears you down though, the drama is exhausting.

I hade a peaceful woman until the internet got ahold of her. It was all over after that. Now she has her followers. It's amazing how messed up that sounds. A woman has to be emotionally mature to give a man peace. Everything isn't always going to be OK, but you should strive for it. I had 2 special needs kids to take care of, so coming home to chaos was a norm. Nurses, therapists, machines always beeping and humming in the background, 24/7. It's really a wonder how we made it so long. Often times I felt like a third wheel because I got no attention. It really just turned into a 24/7 job. I went through drugs and alcohol to ease the pain but realized that didn't even work. Depression, huh, I ate that for breakfast and by the evening I was to tired to care. But on top of defeating the self medicating, I managed to get a job that was a God send and things were looking good. That's when she went downhill. I can't blame her for looking elsewhere for attention. Was it right? No. But when you put a person under the stress we had, what can you expect? I'm better then ever now and a part of me wishes she would come back but I don't know. Both the kids passed, bless their souls, so there is no more stress. I fear that has messed her up for the worse though. She can't even come over and see her grandbabies. I'm sorry for dumping on you all, I think I just needed to get it off my chest. I am Gen X as well. Classic latch key kid, single mother, the usual. Having grown up and lived in nothing but dysfunction I already know how to handle it so peace would be secondary to stability for me. Peace doesn't mean much when you are falling through life ass backwards.
In my relationships, when a woman agrees that she doesn't want to argue it always comes with the tone/implication that what she really means to say is "i want you to not argue with me." Or "if you would just admit that i am right and behave as i say then i wouldnt have to argue." Basically when its used in this way it is to try to pin a man into a submissive position. And for the sake of peace, most times it works. But it hurts alot.
