i live in iran and i became suni in the age of 16. about 10 to 20 percent of iran is suni and every thing is good But the problem is more than 30 percent of iran are not muslims and to force hijab on a non muslim will have these kinds of results.

Maybe the female journalist can get a filmed interview with a French Minister why women don't have the freedom in France to wear hijab? Also a woman shouting Free Palestine in France can get her arrested?

Religion cannot be forced on anyone, it can only be practiced if it comes from one’s heart. In the west Muslim girls are not forced to Wear hijab, but you’ll find majority of them do eventually.

For me, it's wrong to force someone to wear a hijab or not to wear hijab. Iran's problem is forcing women to wear hijab. Tajikistan's problem is forcing women not to wear hijab. In iran, we had a western backed dictatorship that forced 70 years of secularism and forcefully removed hijab, so the Islamic revolution happened after 70 years of solid Liberal regime in iran. So many young girls don't know about Islam, and they don't know the reality of the Western world. In iran, the US tried to create another Turkey, but they didn't succeed due to the majority of muslims. However, there are sizeable minority of Liberal minded people living in the few big cities that they think if you are naked it means you are developed and free.

I saw a video of an Iranian man who threw yogurt in a woman's hair for not wearing the veil. When you watch street walks of Iran you can see young women don't wear the hijab much anymore. And those who do are forced to by the "morality police."

I get confused when people uses term shia or sunni. I never call myself sunni. I am a muslim who follows the Quran and Sunnah hadith( thrimidi, bukhari and so on) Even if that means sunni please do not call it like that or me.

Countries are allowed to impose their own laws of public decency. In Iran that means wearing the Hijab.

This is my favourite verse in the Quran O believers! Do not enter the homes of the Prophet without permission ˹and if invited˺ for a meal, do not ˹come too early and˺ linger until the meal is ready. But if you are invited, then enter ˹on time˺. Once you have eaten, then go on your way, and do not stay for casual talk. Such behaviour is truly annoying to the Prophet, yet he is too shy to ask you to leave. But Allah is never shy of the truth. And when you ˹believers˺ ask his wives for something, ask them from behind a barrier. This is purer for your hearts and theirs. And it is not right for you to annoy the Messenger of Allah, nor ever marry his wives after him. This would certainly be a major offence in the sight of Allah.

Btw as a Westerner,I'm tolerant towards anyone Muslim woman who chooses to wear a hijab and i hope any hijab wearing woman shares my tolerance by respecting the right of those who choose not to wear a hijab,even if she happens to be her own daughter.

Let's start: You or anyone else can't tell who is Muslim or who is not, and if the Majority of believers is the measurement of who is right and who is wrong, then the Majority of the world are Non- Muslim, and that will put you as a Muslim, Sunni or Shia in the wrong. Now for the Hijab part: Do you go around and use the same claim toward Sunni Muslims in Turkey, UAE, Egypt, India, Pakistan?! For Hundreds of years Shia Muslim were allowed to perform Hadj, Only Muslims can perform such pilgrimage, I hope that clears your Takfiri mindset. Now for the last part: Religion in Iran is Compulsory and most Iranians are Anti Islam.

The Mullah regime also doesn’t care about Iranian people, unemployment and poverty are high in Iran, ‘temporary marriage’ type of prostitution is legal…I don’t blame them for rebelling. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the Mullah regime cares about Palestinian lives, it’s the land they want influence and control over…they are responsible for the ethnic cleansing of 200,000+ Sunni Muslims in Iraq and Syria, so ask yourself why they would care for Palestinian lives? Wearing hijab must be mandatory rule in Iran . Look at Iran’s past history , there were no hijab like open society then what happened to Iran became a slave of west but Iran became master of west just because of west’s departure from Iran and today under Islamic rule , Iran now touch on heart of space therefore west now using hijab as an weapon to use hijab conflict to downgrade Iran’s current advancement made the west so jealous that forced them to hijab controversy in Iran and Islamic countries . Muslim women in Iran to look back to history under shah under west’s slavery but now Iran became master of west . As a shia I say dear sister may God bless you and your family eternally however for that to happen only thing that is required by Allah almighty from you is fairness and justice. When in court when a case comes between 2 or more parties and the judge just listens to one party and refuses to listen to the other party would you consider that a fair judgement? All things considered I would agree with you that the shia organised clergy is illegitimate as the founding books of our shia religion which is the commandments of God, the Holy Prophet (SAWW) and the Ulil - Amr specified by the prophet does leave no room for organised clergy. It is ironic. However I would recommend for an easy step in research for a little fairness that you download a pdf of the book renamed the right path (original name was Al- Murajaat meaning the collection) it is a collection of an exchange of letters initiated by a sunni Alim Chancellor of the Al- Azhar university in cairo and a shia Alim from lebanon you'll get a rough idea of the difference and commonalities of our sects.

Im a muslim convert who wore mostly turban . I had to remove my turban when i was targeted by cps. Because we converts are treated extremly bad. Because you cant be western and choice to cover your hair. I got judge all the time for wearing it. I had to focus my life on saving my son so he wont get into fostercare.
