I was at the stadium watching this, it was so hot that day! We were sweating balls in the shade! Words can't even explain how epic that pull-up rig looked in person it was insane!
Women's Murph has got to be one of the coolest sports endeavors out there. The athleticism of these ladies is nothing short of phenomenal. Very inspirational for a athlete regardless of sport or gender!👍🏾👍🏾💪🏼
The amount of pain you can see on these athletes faces. Its extremely hot down there on the pitch. I love the camaraderie amongst all of them at the finish line. That's beautiful to see.
It actually is, there is a video somewhere on YT where she explains her name actually is thors daughter, In Iceland 'thorisdottir' is how the last name is given to the daughter.. Pretty cool to get a name like that :)
Everyone commenting on pull-ups when they probably can’t do kipping pull-ups, butterfly pull-ups...let alone a regular pull up. 100% of these athletes can do regular pull-ups just as well. These pull-ups are based off gymnastics and take coordination and conditioning to perform. Stop being ignorant, people. Every pull-up has a purpose.
From a guy that does pull ups daily. (I can also do muscle ups) I am disgusted by these kipping pull ups. I remember seeing those for the first time a few years ago. Thinking what the hell is he doing. Bye.
Get bent lady, those aren't fkn pull ups. Period. Former SOF guy, and on this day ZERO PULL UPS WERE PERFORMED. Murphy would be laughing at this disgrace.
Look at what the Champ doing there, she was really support every athlete.. She is amazing.. There is no first place , think to participate the murph was make you the champ... Love u all... and the greetings from Kerala ,india... I dont think abt this... So kind full to see thorrisdotor struggling..
I live this workout, the playlist and most of all, your energy. Be blessed, you and your family, you are doing amazing things for us around the world ❤. Thanks from France

Hope the new year brings us, citizens of the world, the knowledge and good sense to do and be better🙏👍💪❤😘
Yeah, this is when Kara collapsed from heat exhaustion. I’m glad she was ok after this. This was a great and tough workout. CrossFit is awesome. I love to stay in shape, and the men and women are inspiring. I’ve always wanted to marry a fit girl too😊❤️👊🏾 #FitFam #Community
Did anyone else notice Bridgers starting @ like 18:44 reach in to her waisteband for what appeared to be some sort of swallowable item and then @ 18:48 appear to swallow that object with her preworkout container? Are they allowed to eat salt/sugar cubes or something @ these competitions ?
I loved this video! I’ve been following you for a while and have used your workouts from your IG. Really love the nurturing and the care you give with specific directive to do the movements correctly. I feel absolutely refreshed, I look forward to future at home videos!
@@ravkhar927 A pullup is getting your chin over the bar. There is a difference between a strict pull up and a kipping/butterfly pullup. Just like there is a difference between a strict bar press and a push press.
@@nicolascirencien4489 Mat Fraser was more than 6 lbs lighter (difference between vests) than many of the men.... It's not that it's wrong that there are physical differences between men and women, but it just seemed petty to try to diminish her achievement.
Can you or your significant other compete at such a level and come in first? If not, stop crying. They're doing something mad difficult and making progress. Such impeccable work ethic
@@trifitguy his comment isn't wrong, majority of the people in the comments, should they know anything about pull ups, would know they're hard. I mean if your question didn't make you feel daft why would his? If you were that fit you wouldn't be trolling comments on youtube. As for "we" are you insinuating everyone in the comment thread can do them? I don't believe for a second a strong woman wants a petty man like yourself, when he is clearly defending strong people. So many issues for a patronising comment.
@@matthewmaciver8245 if its not a regular pull up, don't call it a pull up in the description. Call it 100 butterflys or whatever you want, don't call it a pull up.
Redo this video and add some indication in when the timer is about to be up and you’re moving to a different excercise. Not everyone has time to constantly look at the screen
I'm surprised more people didn't pass out. I know how it feels to exert yourself in that type of heat and humidity. It feels like someone removed all the oxygen from the atmosphere.
Was this the year that Kara Saunders was allowed to almost die from this event because the medical people wouldn't step in or is this the year after when they allowed the same thing to happen with Annie Thorisdottir.
@@trifitguy are you kidding me! What other sport do you know of where they allow people to knowingly suffer medical distress. Good God this sport is filled with sadists
i agree with everyone. I think at this point it would just be better to remove the pullup bar section of this. Itll stop a lot of awkwardness, confusion, and dispute. Itd make everyones life easier. Replace it with something else
This is what professionals athletes have to go through in any sport well maybe not hockey with the cool rinks. The professional rinks are hot compared to normal ones....
Laughing in the arabian desert kind of heat. Even wind is super hot, feels like there is no oxygen. Plus when we did PE in school, it felt like my shoes were on fire and I literally could feel the sweat avaporate off of my skin.
@True To This I mainly was thinking of iron mans those only cancel because of storms not heat. Maybe they should be but that’s not the case athletes will always pass out when they push there body to hard. Being a athletes fucking dangerous🤷♂️ the smart ones train in and for this weather
@@Foralluhaterz true...the idea that all those Females are "Ladies" is debatable...I date gals like them in the early 90s and most have communication problems when subjects turn intellectual concepts. Their table manners at times, is a joke, as well, their hygiene is not consistent with an actual "Polished/Accomplished Woman"... They are not Ladies, more like Tom boys with female parts...They also have attitudes that is more make than female,. "No thank you".
If you can do these 100 times weighted then you may talk as much trash as you want but these athletes did 100 weighted pull ups immediately after a 1 mile run in that scorching sun. These athletes, Men and women who compete, are probably the fittest most athletic people on earth I’m sure they can out do you in regular traditional pull-ups.
This stuff is entertaining to watch but as a guy who can do alot of body weight and weighted pullups I hate these kind of pull-ups. Not hating on this I'm just saying.
not even close to pullups. those are swimups(sorta) half of them don't even get their chin to the bar. they should just eliminate that part of the even if it is not done properly
