Diane von Furstenberg originally designed it ,french people call it the "wallet dress" because it's "folding" around your body but also she made an empire out of it
This gives me a WHOLE new appreciation for wrap dresses. It is so flattering on all of them (other than the color is a little better on some than others but overall they all look wonderful). And - this is very important to me - looks very comfortable.
Yvonne this is what I’ve done with a wrap dress that I love, I also use a little button pin to secure the gape🙈 I just cannot be bothered with all the faffing about that you get with wrap dresses.
Wish they would compare short women (of all sizes) and tall women (of all sizes). I'm short and wear a 0-2 petite and this dress looks like it would hang on me with too much fabric around the the waist because of where the belt would fall. Also, the v-neck area would probably have to be adjusted on a short person so that they wouldn't have too much clevage.
I wish I could get myself to believe that I'm beautiful just the way I am... I'm 14 and I get called fat even though I have a normal BMI and am not even overweight... People say it in a jovial way and I just shove it off but sometimes it gets so bad that I start taking it seriously. Just remember, all of us are beautiful, no matter if anyone says otherwise :) Edit : Thank you guys sooo much for all the positive replies! Really means a lot!❤️
i went through the exact same thing a couple of years back. easier said then done but shrug it off and realize that you’re perfectly healthy the way you are!! wear things that make you feel confident and above all stay safe 💓💓💓💓
I went through the same thing when I was younger (maybe 8 years old) and it caused me to have disordered eating for so many years and I’m still not completely “healthy”. It’s a dangerous road to go down so please take care of yourself and know that they are just insecure bastards who have nothing better to do with their lives than make fun of other people. There is nothing wrong with you and like you said, you just have to believe in yourself! You will get through this!
April Mabel ・ω・ you need to learn the difference between “negativism” and “honesty”, bud. You also need to find a way to get a lot smarter so... good luck with that! 👍
I love these videos because I am getting to that age where I care A LOT about my appearance. I love how all these women, even though they are different sizes, feel the same way. That speaks a lot to me because I am always comparing myself and think that I am the only person with the problem. Now I know everyone feels the same. I love these videos!
I've spent the evening watching these videos and honestly it's so interesting seeing everyone's different insecurities. I just find it fascinating that the things they were self conscious about I didn't even think about until they mentioned it! I think they all look fabulous! Thank you for showcasing women of all body types!
Wrap dresses are the best! Most of the things I've sewn are wrap dresses. There's a great sewing pattern for wrap dresses that I follow if I desire a new one.
Such a cute dress! I love these videos because they show the reality of trying on clothes. Every woman has parts of them they're self conscious about. Seeing queens rocking clothes with all kinds of body types is great!!
Broke my heart hearing some of these beautiful women saying something negative about a part of their bodies. Makes you realise how easy it is to beat yourself up a bit. I do it too! They all look amazing, crazy how yellow suits all of them x
I truly believe that wrap dresses can flatter all body types. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one where it didn’t unless it was the wrong color or a bad print. It’s inches in the waist so that you can have an hourglass silhouette and can hide someone’s stomach if they don’t want to show it. It’s my favorite type of dress
I love wrap dresses one of the most universally flatter styles out there. All wardrobes should have one, great for thoses times when we are fluctuating up or down in weight. I do agree with the models the mustard yellow is a color that doesnt suit all skin tones.
I like how all the models are standing using the same pose. You can actually compare how they look rather than their modelling skills. They all look pretty good 👍
Wear a full or half slip underneath. Imagine a silky slip. Easy. No peek a boo moments... unless there's some nice lace trim the slip showing. Cheap dresses have no lining... that is why good old fashioned foundational shape wear is still relevant.
the bigger girls think the dress costs more because we're used to paying more for clothes because we have to and that sucks. My first thought was $30 so when that one girl said $10 I was awestruck. I can't remember the last time I spent that little on any article of clothing besides undies.
@@lisamcdonald1791 not less, just the same. A size 00 and a size 12 cost the same in most stores, so why should a size 18 not be available and force someone to go to a different, more expensive store?
@@lisamcdonald1791 It makes sense. I'm a clothing reseller, and I charge more for plus size clothing because it takes up a lot more space. Less inventory = less profit, so I need to upcharge the plus size pieces to make it worth my while to store them. I can fit three or four XS shirts in the same space it takes to store one 2x shirt.
@@itsbrittany5549 Bigger clothes sizes equal more fabric, which means the clothes are more expensive to make, therefore you should pay more for larger clothing. If I was plus size, I wouldn't complain about things like paying more for clothes- it would be my fault for having that weight.
