I feel like these shades honestly looked great on everyone, but that doesn't mean that they suit everyone's individual preferences, especially the bright colours. But I do definitely think they might've achieved shades that do suit everyone, if not most people.

I'm not sure I like the name of the brand (everything FOR ME!), and maybe these beautiful ladies felt a little outside their comfort zone, but these shades looked gorgeous on ALL of them!

The shades are versatile and suit the skin tones, but yeah, they seem pretty uncomfortable with strong colours.

They might as well have applied it directly to their lips from the tube since they were running the applicators over their lips then swiping it back over the lipstick anyway.

From a makeup artist stand point, these lipsticks are amazing and are a 'one shade fits all', they may not fit everyones personal preference but thats not what they claim to do. They claim to suit everyone's skin tone and from what I can see they do. Really neat product and something I'd add to my kit.

Honestly I think the paler you are the less some of the bright colors look good on you. The only one that rocked ALL the lipsticks is the girl in stripes

Geek Girl I think we are sold too much of this idea that bright colors are for a special type of women. From what I’ve seen of American media, I feel like it’s mainly associated with the idea of femme fatale ? I feel like a bright lip is more socially accepted here in Europe but I may not have the full picture

It’s not that bright lips are necessarily associated with femme fatales over here, it’s that they are considered too “loud.” The bright color draws attention to your face, and despite Instagram makeup trends, the average American woman likes to look natural or “nude.”

I wish they would've had someone (usually darker skinned) who has two toned lips. I struggle with my lips being two vastly different colours and it makes me hate using lipsticks that aren't dark or matte enough.

If I may ask : have you tried ombré lips ? I have this idea that it would work better on two toned lip but as my profil picture may suggest, I’m the color of aspirin most of the time so I can’t test it myself

I am by no means good with makeup but I do see people applying foundation then a pigmented lip liner fully over the lips then putting a lipstick on. I do the fully lined lip liner and works wonders. Granted my lips are nearly as pale as my face.

@@jeannebrdt I have! I vaguely do it? Always without any concealer since it looks kinda odd on me and it's quite hard to get coverage. That, and the fact that I need to go whole days with makeup on (class, events and stuff) and usually it looks horrible after eating. But I do quite prefer doing ombré or just not going fully to my lipline :)

@@KiarraSari I've tried it out a couple of times and I find that it looks quite odd on me personally. But then again, I do prefer not fully lining my lips/keeping the colour in the center since it otherwise looks kinda overwhelming on me? I hope this makes sense hahah

I have the mauve, pink, ruby and red. The red is more orange toned and is the only matte in the collection. I prefer the mauve for everyday.

I know the struggle of trying to find a shade that you like yourself.. but wow they all look good imo with eveyr color. its individual preferences ofc, but goes to say how one can try to change one owns perspective and not box oneself into a corner. I ususally just do tinted lip balms or very close to natural color matte lip creams.. but it wouldn't hurt to try something new

Y’all! They, Maybelline, have done it! Not all of you liked all the colors, but let me assure you that they all looked good on every complexion. This will be the holy grail of lipsticks. Too cool.
