+ranhill ...I was just thinking the same thing. This is want how you dominate in a sport. I think some of these current athletes need to see this is how you do it. Dominating a sport doesn't come by winning a few races and you haven't been to an Olymics. When you have longevity and have been around as long as these ladies have, that's domination.
+Kantrice Dorsey yes, and all winners of individual medals. SRR and Trotter 400 Olympic gold and bronze respectively, Mills World Championships bronze, Antyukh 400 hurdle Olympic Gold. And the key is patience. Hard work and discipline, along a strong mind and good genes equals success and longevity in the end.
eddy chelsea Yes, at the time I made the initial post SRR was still going until she blew out her hammy in Atlanta a few weeks before the US Olympic Trials. She has indeed retired and and transitioned nicely into broadcasting. She did a great job as color analyst, along with Ato Bolden, for NBCs Olympic coverage.
Not only ladies..... Most of the athletes like to represent USA from their particular sports.... That's what the standards one can see and achieve overthere......
Deedee Trotter is a class act. That Greek girl should've just kept running without a shoe. Would've been something but she chose to be a 3 year old instead.
The national record was in the semis. 3.36 something. We were second behind Greece. I think Manjeet Kaur ran in that. One of them fell sick and had to be replaced.
Dee Dee ran the eff out of that lead off leg. Wow. That was the lead the team had the entire race. She created that pretty much on her own. Sub 49 out of the blocks?! That’s bonkers
Doug Raddi . Just a reminder Doug, beauty fades, as does athletic prowess. We have a very short window in which to shine. I don't say this as an x good looking athlete., I was born ugly, with no athletic ability whatsoever. Not overweight, just not gifted. I remember when I was 15 at High School, and it was sports day. The woman in charge of physical education made me line up, to run a race that I knew I would not only lose, but come last in!!! When I was at junior school, I came last in the egg and spoon race, I couldn't get that fu#king egg on my spoon. Everyone else had finished. My mum said, 'well, I'm ashamed of you'. So, forward a few years, and I was forced to line up again, for something I didn't want to do, cos I didn't want to look like a fool. Well, the starter pistol went off, and I turned round and walked away!!!😂😂😂 This woman went ballistic threatening me with the cane etc. I remember saying, I don't f'ing care, I refuse to participate, so what are you going to do, kill me????? She walked away, finally admitting defeat! 😂😂 I became a qualified Registered Nurse though, so my gifts lay elsewhere. Just thought I'd share!! 😏😏😏
@@serenityflies1462 I'm sorry for what you experienced early in life. I'm going to have to disagree with you on what you said about beauty fades. There are some people in this world who get better with age. I know a lot of men and women who are better looking or kept their looks well into their life. You are right that we all lose strength as we age, it doesn't dissuade me from acknowledging beauty when I see it. Take care
Greece should have been disqualified as the 3rd leg runner dropped the baton outside the track zone but because it was their home Olympics they didn't put a DQ next to their final standing place.
Ha ha . What a foolish thing you mention here . If you don't know the rules pls stop bla bla. Even she is out of track , she can resume running from the position where she getting out from the track . That's the rule for any relays. But you sooo funny comments here . Greece home advantage no DQ .Ha lol
@@mstk1803 And what a pathetic life you must have. Have you got nothing better to do than to respond to 2 year old posts? Is your life really that empty? Go find yourself a hobby cus this clearing ain't working out for you, Thanks for the lols
@@phoenixforce6595 stop bla bla man, come to the point man. It's not about how much year to take a reply ... Don't try to talk about things unless you should thorough about the same . What a joke Greece host that's why doesn't get DSQ . ha ha
In the history of Olympics, for the very first time, Indian women team entered the finals in 1984 (Los Angeles Olympics). PT Usha powered the team. After 20 years, in 2004 they reached finals. They were doing good in the qualifying rounds and semi finals but in the finals they finished 7th. After this no body entered the finals. May be in 2024 🤷♂🤷♂.
What a cry baby. I couldnt even see what country that was but Someone lost their shoe before and finished the race with one shoe. The lady here couldve finished the race still. Also those officials were way too close to the racers
Carl Lewis, Ben Johnson and Flo Jo put track and field on the map in the 80s. With the notable exception of Usain Bolt, there haven't been personalities that colorful in it since then.
Yeah..... Wish them back..... There was a time for good athletes from Romania..... But just think abt the economy crisis from that period to this period..... I think it still sucks....
Dilip Rai As the second and third woman were making the exchange, it looks like they got to close to the second woman accidentally stepped on her teammate’s shoe, causing it to come off her heel and forcing her to stop. It wasn’t evident from the footage because it looked like she just quit on the race but she apparently fixed it and finished, even though they ended up being about 25 seconds behind the group.
@@xaloumi1994 if in the second change she had made the Greek athlete had not come so close to the second Greek athlete who took the baton, her shoe would not have come off and Greece would have reached the dream and taken the bronze in athletics in the women's 4x400 metres relay and would not miss the only opportunity Greece ever had and will never have again in this athletics event.
@C B S So why did you reply? And personally, I care that people get facts right when they're available. Clearly the fact that this sub-thread exists proves that at least some people care (and not just me).
На первом этапе русские отвратительно палочку передали. Почему остановилась бегущая? Принимающая с места стартовала, хотя принимать палочку должна на ходу.
That was Crystal Cox. But she did not run in the final so the result will stand and it should. I know the rest of the world would like to see the USA stripped of all their medals but it ain't happening because the rest of the world sucks at sports.
@@mauricehumphrey545 Dude sports is a pretty wide term, America rules track and in that too the sprints and perhaps the gymnastics. Also the basketball and baseball as well. But sports - I don't think so.
@Tiffany Daley The problem is, all the other blacks around the world have a serious dislike of black Americans because of jealousy. I have seen it in the USA and I have seen it overseas. So, the hating usually comes from blacks outside the black American community. In return, we just throw the hate back at those who throw it us.
Firstly please refer to the Olympic gold medalist and silver medalist plus 2x world gold medalist by her correct name and secondly if you actually bothered to watch the race you would see that the official stepped in and forced her to move all the way out there.
Christine thingymajig lined up in the wrong place like the dummy she is and then tried to move, but you're not allowed to do that. Once you've lined up you have to stay in that position. She didn't bother to find out what the rules were. Just like she didn't bother to turn up for all those drug tests. She's either completely dumb or whatever the alternative is!
