Here’s a new Flip Clock which you can still buy brand new in 2020 but which is certainly a throwback to some digital clocks from the 1970s. In the late 1970s the market really took off for LED digital clocks but this style was a mechanical alternative which could still be considered a digital clock too. Vintage Flip Clocks were almost always designed so that the flaps were encased in some kind of container so that you couldn't touch them (and likely damage them) but you also couldn't see the back or sides of the mechanism. So I really appreciate this "open air" style allowing folks to see what's really happening all around.
I would guess that the market for Flip Clocks mostly dried up by the 1990s, but there's still a nice, little Flip Clock style alarm clock radio featured in the 1990s movie Groundhog Day (and they broke several of them in the making of the movie) and, of course, who can forget that Marty McFly had a Flip Clock in his bedroom in the Back to the Future movies?
You can look for this and similar clocks by simply searching for “Flip Clock” at Amazon. This one happens to carry the brand name WoneNice but there are others out there too. I found names like Betus, MIDCLOCK, Rejea, Twemco and more. There are also variations in style, including a wall-mounted version, clocks with different finishes and colors, clocks with taller stands, etc..
If you just can't get enough information about this and other, vintage Flip Clocks, check out a RU-vid channel for Flip Clock Fans... / @flipclockfans

We are still using an electric Philips flip alarmclock from the 70's. Flipping away nicely in our livingroom. Keeping very good time. Especially considering it's age. (Having a very small collection 4 vintage flip clocks. All have militairy time. Guess because they were all made in Europe.).

The clock may be running fast because... you are using Alkaline batteries :-D So, different types of batteries have different voltage drop throughout their lifetime and Alkaline batteries tend to hold higher voltage levels than, say, Zinc Carbon batteries. Since this clock may have been designed for the lower-voltage ZiC batteries, the higher voltage of the Alkalines may be kicking it faster. Try using "heavy duty" AAs or rechargeable NiCd/NiMH cells instead. Do know, however, that Zinc Carbon batteries leak faster, so maybe best is to use rechargeable batteries which will not hold voltage as high as the Alkalines.

Evening Greg 😇 I almost bought one of those myself at one of the Shopko stores before Shopko went out of business here recently & now that I think about it I used to have one of the same clock that Marty had in Back to the Future back in the day. Too bad I still don't have it otherwise I'd sell it and I'd be able to get another nice watch or two for my collection.

The fact about the batteries was so strange and shocking to me. Here in Chile, in the early 2000s, Duracell put a lot of advertising saying that alcaline batteries in general are way more durable than regular carbon-zinc batteries. Maybe it was because i was a kid and asumed it as a truth, but I find strange that a manufacturer suggets "the other way" for their product, since almost every battery on the market is alcaline right now.

Nice Video, is the watch durable? Is the dust bad for the Flip down Clock movement?

I have only had this clock for 5 months and it's an hour slow. It's the worst clock I've ever had. Flip clocks in the 70s would never have been viable being this inaccurate. I think I'll just get a 50 y.o. vintage flip alarm clock and have a quality product. Not sure if it's the same brand.

The design of this is atrocious in my opinion. You're better off getting an old 80s model flip clock, one that can do alarm, radio, etc, in addition to just being a cool flip clock.

I had no time keeping issues with it but it died after like 10 months, sad moment. I kind of try to fix it somehow

Thats "digilog" technology (and a somewhat homely timepiece as well in this case)
