In this Part 2 video wood carving a bluegill bream I'll be carving the fin detail.
In Part 3 I'll be carving head and gill detail, carving the slots for the fins.
This is only the second bluegill I've carved.
The first one I carved was the second ever fish I carved and it was my first RU-vid video I posted.
So we'll see how far I've come when we see the difference between that one and this one when I finish.
If you have any questions feel free to drop me an email or leave them in the comment section. I hope you will enjoy this project and if you do please subscribe and hit that thumbs up button.

Hey Danny! Great job as usual. Listen, I was watching a video of a European guy carving the fins on an asp (European fish). Knowing what a student of the art you are, I thought of you. You may have seen the video already but I thought I'd send you the link. I figured you might want to put some of his techniques in your toolbox. Take care.

Thanks again Danny. In this video.. do you deburr/defuzz the fins? If so.. how?

Yes sometimes, I’ve got a DYI deburring tool that I use. I made a DYI video for it if you want to check it out. it’s basically a big scotch bright wheel. I do most of the fins with diamond bits and they generally have a pretty smooth finish afterwards. But I still hit them with the deburring tool. Yes they are important not only in how they look but how they’re set. I’ve made my own eyes since the last competition. I feel like I can make them look more accurate than commercial glass eyes
