Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm only a few months into carving and being a leftie, found I could follow the video easier than watching a right hander. Sounds daft I know, but only just starting out I tend to follow the videos exactly.
Hi Tony! I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the channel. As a beginner it’s important to be patient with yourself and enjoy the learning process. Happy carving!
Great video jack I really enjoyed it. If you get a chance to hold onto one of John's carvings take it. I was lucky enough to see a big display at a wood carving showing. I fell in love with his guys. I really like ur spiked snail and 4th of July guy. Trying to get mine right. I didn't realize there were videos on it.
I get confused turning the carving upside down, so I learned how to carve with my left hand and thus do not keep turning the carving upside down...thanks for your wonderful content!
Very interesting! It sounds like you may be ambidextrous. That can be a useful skill, most people learn to carve upside down because carving with their non-dominant hand is even more difficult for them.
Great tutorial Jack. I appreciate the time you put into making these videos for us yearning to learn! By the way the #5 gouge what size is it? Thank You !!
