Hello. yes gladly! i use a dremel 3000 it is pretty cheap to buy. it is also very smart to get a "dremel flexible shaft". When you use the shaft, you dont need to hold the entire machine when you are working. I use the dremel sanding drum for most of the carving. The sanding drum comes in the sizes 1/2 inch and 1/4 of an inch. Good luck and dont hesitate to ask me any other questions. i love answering them :)
It was treat to the eyes you drawing the sketches... as a matter of fact by looking @ the owl what you made i also ordered Dremel....... you are good at sketching..
The 'trick' isn't in the sketching, or even the carving. The real magic lies in the VISION. Many people think they see but they can only observe. The Artist is the one who can SEE. Once you can SEE what is in your mind's eye, you draw, sculpt, paint or carve what you SEE. SEE? Once you can understand this, you can put that dremel to good use.
I absolutely love your work!!! Your patience and eye for detail shows in each piece of art you do!!! I enjoy watching your process and tips you share. Thank you for taking the time to share your art !!!!
I didn't know about that stain looked wrong but, brother it came out just perfect, very nice job.. I carve with a dremel and knifes. I was just looking at around at other peoples work and found you.Nice job, See Ya.. AF&AM
Jonas, another very stylish carving, and you have improved the views of the work so that we all can see the process, so thank you for listening. I expect Mike Stinnett will be watching and will also give you a thumbs up too. I am going to try and do some similar carvings, but it will take some practice to get even close to to your works. I may start simple like a mouse or squirrel or maybe a birds head, and use toothed burrs rather than abrasive cylinders but you and Mike have inspired me to try, as Mike says (we`ll see you on the next one)!!!
john goodall hey John! Thanks! I still got a long way to go on the editing side, but i am focusing my time more on carving than on the editing. It can be pretty time consuming. Yeah perhaps Mike will watch this 😃 My next video will be a tiger sculpture. It will be badass!
john goodall make sure to make some videos about your carvings! It is a great way to get a good youtube channel by showing your progress from the start
My goodness you are quick to reply and thank you for your comments I can`t wait for the big cat I am sure it will be stunning, good luck with it, cheers from john.
Not sure about the video side but as I said I will have to practice a bit first, I have a good camera but not good at Video yet watch this space Ha Ha !!!
Before I even bothered to look I just KNEW there would be dislikes... HOW / WHY anyone would dislike this is beyond me!. (Jealous maybe who knows). Seriously impressed with not only your beautiful artwork, but skill in which you transformed it into a beautiful carving. Kudos man, you are very talented. Liked and subbed.!!!
Thank you so much for the support! One of my videos got 8 dislikes and 4 likes right after i uploaded it. I was about to delete the video because i tought something was very wrong with it 🤔
LOL man, there is nothing wrong with your videos at all!. I have watched this one about 6 times now and admit I am trying to make this owl you drew too. I have everything ready to go... I didn't trace your picture, or freeze screen and print it, I just copied it with a pen on paper.... it ended up... errr ok-ish I guess. I have the wood, the tools the will... ummm... but the ONLY thing I don't have is the skill hehe. That's why videos like this are great. Talented artists inspire!!. My versions going to be pretty lame ...but I am going to try cutting it out today for my wife... hehe she may never see it. Anyways... Kudos to you and keep up the great work!.
Thank you! i am humbled for being called a master. Just wait in a year and i will show you something spectacular and the next year after that i will blow everyones minds hopefully :D
This one reminds me of the Mabinogion, a Welsh mythology where a lady was made from flowers to be a bride and turned into an owl for going off with another man. her name was Blodeuwedd.
Since the first time I've seen this pendant, I keep thinking that would be great if you fill the owl's eye with some epoxy resin that shine when its in the dark
Nicely presented and well Illustrated. I enjoy watching how you do your drawings and transfer them into a carving. I'm too lazy, I'll do a very rough sketch of what I want to carve and then maybe stick to it, or not
Dale Olsen yes it can be hard to be patient in the designing phase, but if you are it really pays off. I still stryggle with it 😂 in the end it is the design that makes the piece
Hello Jonas !! Just found your video... that's just too beautiful. I was checking online for some Dremel reviews and.. This is the best one. You know I'm a little French girl, having a shitty engraver and I'm really annoyed by it.. doesn't work well.. im looking for a better one and I saw this brand online.. i was like..MAAAAN LOOKS AWESOME. And then your appeared. And you gave a total new dimension to my creative process. Thank you so much. You're inspiring. Keep doing what you do. That's fantastic. Merci beaucouuuup ❤😊
Hi, I have watched many of your videos and loved it, you are an amazing artist. I will love to see some thing from cat family, maybe a tiger, leopard, panther or something similar in future. Respect and lots of love from India.
Diogenes The Vlog hey thank you 😃 i am working on a coffee spoon video today. Im trying to shoot so that it wont be boring or too long segments. Very excited to see how it will preform 😃
Amazing work my friend! You always make it seem so easy :) I'm doing another wooden knife at the moment and am stuck in the design phase! I'm having a mental blank on what to do for the handle part.
HI Jonas Olsen woodcraft I really like your work. But I would be very happy to see if you would upload your red owl's plan from the YT video as a PDF to your website. Ps sorry for my English grammar mistakes
Great job. Really awesome! I was thinking about to see you makiking one with an egypcian style like aTutankhamen Sculpture for exemple. Would look amazing aswell.
Really love your work.!It has inspired me to try my hand at woodcarving. I really love seeing u sketch as well. Keep up the awesome work. You ever thought of carving a Lynx? I think with ur style it would be pretty cool.
Thank you! you definitely should try woodcarving. it has so many possibilities and with some practice you can manage to create anything you want to. I have tought of carving a lynx, but i just dont know how to make the ears because the tips are so thin and they would probably break off :)
Just recently subscribed to your channel.. Could you please do a carving of a lion's face in a similar style ..would love to see that.. Fabulous work with the dremel. Hopefully someday I'll get as good as you. Good luck and cheers.
Hello! thank you so much for the subscription and the kind words. I have planned to make a wooden cup in my next video, but perhaps i can make a lion face as the handle. It will be incredibly challenging, but it would probably be very cool as well :) Cheers :D
