Very entertaining as usual with added education. At 62 Ive passed my threshold of development and now consolodate what Ive accumulated in those years. My daughter is a civil engineer using three dimensional cad design software and will find this very interesting. I was a specialist joinery and furniture manufacturer in my own right for most of my working life and find your vlogs very entertaining. Thankyou. On the subject of the musical background, some know how to include tasteful correctly volumed background and some dont. Yours is very good, infact I seen to remember trying to find out what it was and how to download some. I think I traced it to a provider but came to a dead end from memory. Too much info!!!. Keep doing what you do Andreas I can see that your pupils are very lucky to have you teaching them . Kind Regards Stuart from the UK.👍
I didnt see the step, most were telling me that we have to select the entire image and make it object to path? Did you end up doing that? Im having major issues right now making a sign in fusion.
I saved the file as an svg. Then extruded the board and placed the svg. However, My fusion will not follow the path of the contour. When i try to select the contour its showing up as almost individual lines.
Awesome video! I built a homemade CNC Router and it seems to be working ok but I am struggling designing signs. I checked out the software you are using but the recent reviews don’t sound so good. Are you happy with the current version of Affinity Designer? Then of course there’s the new licensing of Fusion 360. Do you still plan to use Fusion or go to something else?
Hi Warren, thanks for your feedback and sorry for taking so long to answer. I still like Affinity Designer and usually don’t read software reviews. I find that most of them focus on some fringe aspect that someone is unhappy with and they bring their frustration to the review area. I only use a small subset of Affinity Designer’s features but they are more than enough to make signs. Mine have been very simple anyway: a handwriting font, some lines around the text … not more. And Fusion is still free for hobbyists: www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/personal - as far as I understand it, the features in the free plan should be plenty for hobby use and you can get a new free plan every year. Good luck!
the only background music I like hearing is something subtle and that feels like it enhances the environment or listening quality of the video. I hate 'cute' or 'quirky' sounding music. I get and understand the whole 45'ish year old rock-n-roll dude sound and I get the whole 'beats vibe' and those are okay-ish for the me for the most part. Otherwise, no music when someone is explaining a concept works well with me... I'd say classic firearms background music is pretty spot on good in terms of middle of the road and repeatable and not annoying, if you're looking for feedback for a good but repeated background sound. I don't really do background music but I probably would if I came up with a better workflow routing for my footage
Hi Andreas, good to see you dipping your toe into cnc, I know it's not your machine ,but I highly recommend v carve software by vectric, so much more user friendly than fusion, much more versatile for signwriting and artistic projects, and the simulator preview spots all the little conflicts like gaps etc , before you cut. Enjoy learning cnc and good to see new videos from you.
Thanks for those tips, Kevin. It seem that V Carve costs 330 EUR per licence which is quite hefty. Fusion on the other hand is free for educational use and hobbyists. At my school we wouldn’t be able to afford V Carve for all our computer seats so we went for Fusion. Its cloud-based workflow also allows several students to work on one project which is also good. So for the moment, I suppose it's going to be Fusion - and since I’ll have to teach it, I have to get into it myself fairly deeply.
Mich hat das bis vor einiger Zeit auch nicht so interessiert. Nun musste ich mich für den Unterricht in Fusion und die CNC Maschine einarbeiten und finde immer mehr Freude daran.
