We have completed a very special walking stick, a carved dogs head on a beautiful oak staff. A commissioned carving that came out fantastic. Pine carving for the head, Iroko transition piece and an oak staff. Hand carved with knives and rotary burrs, sanded out to 600 grit and finished with Teak oil and polyurethane on the carving.

Really well done, Jason. That subtle concavity where you put the cord is a great touch. Plus the carving looks great.

Jason great looking carving. Where do you get your patterns for the heads. I want to do a cocker Spaniel and a red labrador carving for a couple of friends

Thank you! Glad you liked it. I didn’t have a pattern, just looked up a few photos online then sketched it out on paper. Let me know if you do find some, it would have saved a bit of time 😀

No you didn't, I didn't add it in the build (it was getting too long). I carved out a section with the Dremel to fit about half the crystal into the wood
