I have just started to see the videos as well. The first was one that I found extraordinary. A Hen with her chickens grooving across a road, a in a line, when suddenly mum froze, and the chicks did as well. One would think that their hearts stopped beating, they were so still. Then, I suppose when mum felt it was safe again, the grooving started again and off they went… a joy!

I'll just say it, Funk is the rhythm of nature, I've known that since 1978,when the Funk was pure and plentiful. I cannot tell you how good this stuff is for you.
Saw one on my property this past spring. I thought something was wrong with it. I had never heard of one. We have a video of it. I live on 23 wooded acres in southeast Louisiana. I have plenty pines, live oaks, gums and numerous other trees. I understand they like the piney woods. It was really cute. I read something about that how it looks for bugs.
He strutting. I don't care, these things can give peacocks competition. They have an unbeatable "I'm weird, but in a charming over-the-top way." It's adorable.
The movement emulates a leaf on a tree branch. They live in trees so its a form of camouflage along with their color scheme they are quite hard to spot in the trees. But he is certainly a beautiful little bird! Thank you for sharing!
I love these funky dudes. Never get enough used to meet them out by the pond in the wood on the border of the field when I was young. Even without music they pretty funky .lol
I grew up in the woods in Mississippi but I had never seen a woodcock to my knowledge until a few years ago. These birds are a natural treasure and should be protected at all cost 😊😂😊

@@lindarockafellow5058 if you go back to the same place there might be another one in the exact same spot. I have heard from old bird hunters that they always go back to their favorite spots and they all use the same ones. I don't know if it's true though.
My dog wiggles like that, with a near constant wag of his tail....grins big when he sees strangers or friends. He's just a happy boy. Maybe these birds are just happy birds, eh😁? HUGS2U 🤗😊
I will never stop watching this woodcock video set to different backing tracks. And RU-vid keeps recommending them to me lol. The American Woodcock is now in my top 5 birds I want to see in person someday - knowing that they're secretive and normally more active at night makes it all the more exciting!!! They just have such a funny head shape to me, and the little WARK noise they make is so good. Even the male's breeding flights are incredible - just absolutely wonderful little brown birds.
