We had an excellent weekend at our off grid property in northern BC Canada! Building bush trails, Cabin chores and Saw milling with our Woodland HM 126. Check us out on Facebook: / chrisandkristie.m
Awe that’s such a nice thing to say! We are so excited to have so many people engaging with us in the comments section and following along on our journey! That was my first try at sourdough bagels! And it was a huge success! Will definitely make them again! Maybe blueberry or cinnamon raisin next time!
Winterpeg I mean Winnipeg is having a very unusual winter. Above freezing temperatures, rain and fog. But we are supposed to get 17cm of snow by the weekend. How satisfying it must be to mill your own wood. Can’t wait to see what you are going to construct with it. Another great video from 2 hard workers.
What is it about Winterpeg that makes the rest of us Canadians feel like we probably don’t have it so bad 😂 being from the North my entire life, whenever I think about Winnipeg the scene is blowing snow and people bundled up trying to get somewhere fast haha The sawmill is an amazing hobby. Last year we were so busy trying to get the property set up, we didn’t do much milling at all! This year we will build things hopefully!
Unreal hey! The snow is fleeting here too. Sucks! Tapping trees already! That’s nuts. We don’t have maple here. But we do have birch. And last year we made birch syrup it was amazing! Hopefully we can do that again. Glad you liked the tunes 😊
Newfoundland is high on the list of places we would love to see one day! What a beautiful province you call home! The weather on the east coast can be pretty unforgiving though can’t it?
Awesome. So happy you liked the tunes! It sure adds an awesome vibe to the video I think. 63 is a nice summer day where we live haha Thanks for tuning in and we hope to hear from you on the next one 😊
Hi guys I'm from Connecticut it's about 35 degrees out and I just love watching your videos. I love all the hard work you 2 do. It's very rewarding. Stay warm and safe and I'll be watching for your next video
@@OffGridWithChrisandKristie also, I make sourdough bagels as well. A couple of months ago I got fed up with seeds falling off my everything bagels so I sprinkled cheese over top of the everything bagels. WOW is all I can say, let me know if you try it.
Lol at danger trees. We call them widow makers! Weather here in Ontario is supposed to hit double digits by Friday! Been nice and sunny this week. We call this pretend spring. 😜 Cold will return soon! Cheers!
Hahaha yes! Fools Spring! I’ve totally heard them called widow makers as well! It’s so mild here now. I’m not sure if we will see the -20 again this year? Thanks for engaging with us and see you on the next one! ❤️
February 9th here in Massachusetts. It’s about 48 degrees and up to 60 degrees for Saturday. I’m praying for it continues to get warmer. Beautiful property you guys have.
Today’s high , 81f… fig and mulberry trees are coming out of dormancy, apples , persimmons, Jujube and bananas still sleeping. Only a few mandarins left to pick from my citrus trees. Starting seeds for my summer garden. Also time to plant a few more fruit trees in place of some ligustrum bushes I yanked out today. Rain coming tomorrow. ✌🏼From Louisiana
Oh yeah, it’s carnival season here so the whole state has lost their minds… party for two weeks culminating in a morally bankrupt debacle on Fat Tuesday then we all go to mass on Wednesday to get ashes and all is forgiven. Only in Louisiana 😎
Hahahaha I love the morally bankrupt debacle idea 😂 I don’t even know what half of those plants are haha But it sounds dreamy that you have things to pick right now! The only thing I’m picking is twigs out of my hair 😂
Good work on the quad trail. Your stacking up wood like Little Griff. Can't wait to see you project but lots to watch before that. Those bagels look yummy. Your gonna build a good party deck
Beautiful little cabin there ! You have no shortage of logs around , hope we will see a lot more milling, always have to make work fun or maybe it's just the fresh air :) We have a little more snow than you but half melted in the past two weeks just ice now, Never seen it this warm for this long in my life. Big dance floor coming up !
Milling is so rewarding! It’s been far too long since we’ve gotten out there and made some good lumber! We checked out your video about liard hotsprings the other day! We just love it there ❤️
It’s an insane “winter” we had a couple of weeks of super cold. And we’ve only used the big plow once! This summer could be a disaster if we don’t get some significant rain this spring 😞 Thanks for watching!
You have a beautiful property. So great you can use the wood you have. How many acres do you have? The weather has been warm down here (Green Bay, WI) too. We had 2 weeks of wonderful winter and awesome snowmobiling and now it's all gone. Supposed to be 50F this week. Hoping we get some winter before it's all over.
We have just over 5 acres on the lake. The property is mostly forest that needs to be tidied up. It’s pretty time consuming, and there’s a lifetime of firewood in there! The sawmill was our first purchase after we got the property, there’s so much excellent soft wood here, we always wish we had some hard wood or cedar. But the spruce is plentiful so we will take it. We were hoping to get some winter too, but our hopes are fleeting 😂 Thanks for engaging with us, as always we appreciate you!
I couldn’t understand the words you were saying about your winter holiday that you were cleaning for. Pond hog? It’s been very mild here in Ohio this winter. It’s 31 and all the snow has melted over the past few days.
Oh sorry, pond hockey tournament!! They make about a dozen hockey rinks on the lake and have a massive hockey tournament. Hello to you in Ohio! Thanks for engaging with us.
We do ice fish! We are terrible at it though haha We’ve been skunked all winter. I’m sure we will try again 😊 Thanks for tuning in neighbor! We appreciate you
That’s beautiful weather! It’s been similar here this week! We feel like we’ve had it pretty easy this winter for northern Canada. Except one cold spell of -40. Thanks for tuning in and engaging with us ❤
I’m in Rochester, Kent UK. We have 12.8° with a very cold gale blowing. We’re expecting to get torrential rain and even stronger gales with warnings for structural damage and flooding! 12:37
