@@27dirtysocks Les Claypool is my favourite musician on earth. But Larry LaLonde is why Primus sounds the way they do compared to say, Oysterhead or TCLD.
Didn’t see this show but a year earlier I caught Primus at Lollapalooza and he was doing his best John Cleese/Ministry of Silly Walks impression up there. I never moshed, hopped around and laughed harder at a concert in my life!
Completely agree!! I graduated in 96 and I think the best time I've had in my life was at Woodstock 99! I didn't go to Woodstock 94 tho. But yeah we had absolutely no idea what we had growing up in the 80s and 90s! Wish I could go back!
I feel the same, I would give anything to go back to a time when people would get rowdy. I tried to jump around like crazyy at a les show on the 9th of july and got a dude screaming at me, "how I could have hurt someone"
Smart phones are awesome. It's great having all the information in the world in your finger tips. However, they are destroying situations like this where you should be living in the moment. If you want you watch a show through your phone you may as well stay home. I get taking a thirty second video for a memory or something, but people take it way too far.
Primus fans are about 50% assoles. Their pits are full of idiots who don't even get the culture they're trying to be a part of. DON'T FALL DOWN in a Primus pit. I watched a fight break out in the pit right in front of the stage, the band played on like nothing was happening (it's their perogative, but it ain't classy) and security stood there and watched.
You know Les and Co. had to have so much adrenaline running through them when they came out and were met by this immense crowd!! I still remember ordering all three days on pay per view, bought some shrooms, weed and a little booze with my close four friends and made it as close to going as possible. To be 15-16 years old again. :)
All three members of this band Primus are essential to making Primus! If anyone of these band members was someone else, Primus would not be this great!
Being a teen in the 90’s was certainly a time to be alive .. before everything was soft, and being unusual wasn’t the norm .. these songs got a whole generation through hard times
@@randomsasquatchwithwifi4090 yall at least had jobs. We got outsourced. Our future was Burger King if our parents didn't have us set up for college. Houses cost $35,000 in the 1960s and 1970s and early 80s
It’s a rare group that develops a unique sound and is technically brilliant at the same time. Primus is such a band. And the only reason they never got a Grammy is because Hollywood asshats misunderstood the lyrics to WBBB.
I finally found myself in the crowd at Woodstock 94. I was in a lot of pits there and was mad that Primus was on the South stage AND overlapping NIN on the North stage. Thank God Nine Inch Nails was delayed and I had to jump fences getting chased the entire way through the back stage area to make the North stage in time. The only other way was back up the mud hill and a slow muddy walk that was over an hour. I went to see Primus, Blind Melon and Nine Inch Nails primarily and I would not be denied. "I only wanted to be 16 and free, Yeah!" and I was so I am so glad I finally found a decent shot of me and my muddy Meat Puppets white T shirt almost 30 years later. 🤘🏼
Beginning to think I will never in my life experience something as amazing as Woodstock '94 must have been. I was already convinced by the NIN preformance
Read an interview with Les years ago where he said that the strings on one of his upright basses snapped in the studio. Said his only regret was that it wasn’t plugged in and that the recorder wasn’t going - what a sound that would’ve been, eh?
I went to this! I had just turned 21 and I remember when Primus came on. The mud started slinging and the mosh pit grew. Great fun up to a point. I remember MTV broadcasting from there and my friends and I would scream “MTV sucks” out loud but they just ignored us lol. Young and stupid we were!
Great video I was there, super fun energy haha...plus see how the light changes from day to stormy dusk in like 10 minutes? Huge rainstorms like 5 times over 4 days yes it was muddy
What a mess, when I was carrying all my gear out I had some good laughs and smiles with other people who where in the same state of disgusting as I was but still amped on the good time!
Remember outdoor concerts???? Where it wasn't expensive outdoor yurts and Instagram models just taking pics it was raw energy and real music???? Man I sound like my dad lmao the 90s were my 60s
C'mon man, don't be too proud to correct the title from "Two," to "Blue." We all make mistakes. Fortunately, some of them are incredibly easy to correct.
