I admire you for sharing this. I've always been so inspired by this era because everyone was so peace loving and carefree. I'm 18 years old and I really hope to visit this museum one day since I live in NYC, which is an hour & 50 mins away from Bethel. Thanks so much for posting this, it truly gives me a p.o.v of this beautiful era 💖 ~love from the Bronx, NY.

I remember what Bob Hope said about Woodstock on his TV show in 1969. "There's a rock concert taking place in upstate New York. It's being held in a cow pasture. Probably the best place for it".

This was such a great thing to get to see... I was born in 1959 but I do remember all of this because my oldest brother was 15 years older than me and my next to the oldest brother was 10 years older than me so I grew up with the music. And you really couldn't help knowing that The Big Bopper was born in Beaumont and lived in a house behind Beaumont's only 'head' shop, how ironic. Janis was born 15 miles away in Port Arthur, there's even a historical plaque in front of the house she grew up in...Check out southeast Texas on the musicians that were or are from these parts. Like good 'ol George Jones... LIMH

I would love to visit some day. That bus was SOOO cool! What a fun concept for a visual display. I had to laugh at the teen boy's bedroom with the ash tray and the lighters and matches. I always thought Sha Na Na was the duck out of water in the Woodstock line up. I get my own little taste of Woodstock the second weekend of each August for the past 25 years. The folks who host this love-in have the last name of Wright so it is called WrightStock. There are about 30 families who bring campers or tents out plus many who choose to come out when they can. Friday night is very relaxed, just some good bonfires and guitars, maybe some drums. Saturday morning is a pancake breakfast, $2 a person or a family for $5. (Each year, the family chooses a local charity to donate the money from the breakfast and the fun raffle that happens after dinner.) All the little kids from the first years now bring their own little ones. One of the most beautiful lakes in the world is minutes away so many go for a swim. There's fun and games, maybe some crafts for the kiddos (and adults if they want). Saturday's dinner is potluck and holy smokes- the food seems to go on for miles. They light up the grill for dogs, burgers, whatever and the host family's oldest daughter and her hubby have a tradition of making two kettles of something that are cooked on coals underground. When someone isn't singing or drumming or fluting, there's still music. After the dinner and after the raffle (usually $700-800 is made for the charity) it's full on music until everyone drops. Most years, there are bands who stop by and just happen to have their sound equipment. lol But even on those acoustic years, it is still fantastic! Of course, most folks in attendance are 420 friendly (it's amazing how many have their medical cards LOL) but that's just a background thing. This year, in light of the political situation in the US, our hostess has asked us to make banners or flags for our campsites that we welcome all with love, peace, and light. The wooden peace signs reminded me of something similar my nephew made out of a tree root for the 25th year of WrightStock last August. He found it on the property, carved it up a bit, polished it up and presented it to Wayne and Mary. It was very touching. Thank you so much for sharing!

I once had this little green guitar with McCartney's face with a Signature and sold it for $150 back in 1993 which I thought was a good deal at the time but now I'm told it's probably worth about $1,200 to $2,500 all kinds of things I've just let slide through my hands over the fog mirror of time, never really thought about what it might be worth tomorrow, tomorrow never knows.

. They aught to have a Woodstock smell booth. That's right, for a nominal fee you too can smell like a stinky hippie from Woodstock. Keep your friends guessing you've been. Clear out any line anywhere in minutes. Make another persons eyes water from 50 feet away. IT'S AMAZING! And don't forget the Wavvy Gravy spritz, available on request. All rights reserved, void where prohibited, some assembly required, batteries not included, add water makes its own gravy.

that´s good i think. in a way it´s an insult to our movement- we used to hold our festivls on a paddock with a sleeping bag and / or a tent. now it´s highly commercialized. the whole point is lost. if i live long enough i would like to make a documentary about all the festivals i visited then. i must admit that i didn´t have the chance to get to woodstock because i was only 15 and lived in germany at the time. but germany was brimming with good festivals. i was also in fehmarn. the last concert jimmi hendrix played on. music and filming is still my passion ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7BzTjyh_JDQ.html
