Nice recovery from that fly off Billy, and it really turned out to be a great little bowl with a lovely colour and grain pattern .Nice one mate ! Now the unenviable task to clean up all those resin shavings , that stuff is worse than cleaning up down from a plucked goose .Great video mate, cheers and take care Bram .
In the end you ended up with a very pretty bowl Billy. I think I heard you say you Hate Resin...twice. Well I have to admit I hate it as well.I think resin turnings sure can be pretty. But as a retried wood patternmaker I used more resin that you can imagin. A pattern needs a core box to make the inside of the casting. Standing over a epoxy and fiberglass core box for ours is not that much fun. The finished product it cool and I liked that. But the mess and fumes coming from all the resins is something I try to stay away from. Then we made resin molds so we could duplicate the patterns and pour resin into the molds so they could cast more than one casting at a time. There and thanks for letting me say I hate resin LOL. Thanks to all who do not hate it for all the beautifl things they make using it. Gary
Great bowl Billy. It tried to fight you, but you overcame all the obstacles. It’s interesting to me how we have a design in mind and simply forget what we’re doing and unconsciously turn something different. I do it all the time. One reason I love turning is that there is always more wood and another chance to do what was planned. Thanks for sharing!
