Hi Huw, Good job before turning. And yet another great design. And another beautiful pen. Big congratulations for the richness of details and a beautiful handicraft. I saw a knee brace walking stick there. I hope your waist is better now. Stay healthy and happy. Cheers Huw
Really enjoyed watching this morning. Been a long week trying to get things done. Watching you make the pens and drinking my coffee made my morning. { Had a donut too! lol } Great looking pens Huw. Have a fantastic weekend and continued prayers.
Very interesting to see what goes into batching pens for turning, Huw. Beautiful finished product, too! Looks like you use really good quality pen parts. Great job! 😃 Phil
Morning Phil, I do love batching pens. It cuts the time down substantially. The kits I buy are from Taylors Mirfield and they are fantastic quality with plating lasting years. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Well Who Knew Huw that You would make such a pretty YEW pen...sorry I could not help it. Great looking pens my friend. I bet they sell like hot cakes. Take care! Cheers, Gary
Well, when you get in the shop you're a real busy guy ! But don't get too confident with your back! Please. Love them all - from my angle the Yew is gorgeous but up close I think the Teak would be a stunner ! Thanks for sharing. Take care my friend. -Mike
Thanks Mike, My back is coping at the moment but still not pushing it. The Teak and the Yew sold almost immediately. Yes the Teak did have the edge in my mind as well. Thanks as ever my friend. Take care. Cheers, Huw
Thanks Jojo, I'm going to have to make more as they are selling quite quickly. Great to be able to be back on my lathe. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Hi Huw, I purchased the erikhill 01 after watching you last video and am very pleased with it, once again a very informative video Huw and thank you for sharing

8th is a good place to be Grahame. The Yew one sold yesterday. Someone picked it up looked at it and said "I'll have this please" Take care mate and I'll look for that nailer tomorrow. Rutlands have one on sale today. I'll send you the link. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
Lovely pens Huw. I once said I wouldn't turn pens, but you inspired me to give it a go, and now I really enjoy it. Quick results and a nice end product which people seem to appreciate. Thank you, and best wishes for tomorrow. Hopefully good news. Regards Trevor. PS I still don't use the skew 😂
Hi Trevor, That is great to hear and so nice of you to say that I inspired you. Pens are an art form in their own right in my mind and people get very attached to a nice pen. I certainly do. Just about to get ready to see the Physio. If you have a Skew try it on a scrap piece of wood, the finish off the cut does mean less sanding. Take care my friend. Cheers, Huw
Hi Mark, Teak can be dark or light, it depends where it comes from. It is a great wood to work with. Thanks for your kind wishes my friend. Take care Mark. Cheers, Huw
Thanks Ted, That is a big compliment from someone who makes pens like you do. They did sell well and yes I'll be making more. Take care Ted and thanks again. Cheers, Huw
Second? A v nice collection of fountain pens Huw, I’m sure they’ll sell well at your craft fair. Never used teak how does it perform with glues and finishes? As it’s an oily wood. Hope good news and way forward with the quack on the back 🤞🏼 Cheers Steve
Thanks Steve, Yes Second, lol. They have sold well mate.7The Teak finished beautifully, sands really easily and take a finish really well. Tomorrow morning for the quack. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
...just subscribed recently...hope your issue resolves quickly...I've got several going on at the moment, so I get it... Love the pens as they turned out great! Just started turning myself and using CA for the finish, but I'm looking for new ways to do it... Looking forward to see what you come up with...👍 Matt
Hi Matt, Thanks for subscribing, really appreciate it. I used a CA finish for years but have now changed to the one showed in this video. If you want to know the exact method let me know and I will gladly share it with you. Take care Matt and thanks again. Cheers, Huw
