Definitely the videos with your teaching and voiceover are by far the best. I watched that video without the voice for only a couple of minutes. You’re teaching voiceover is what makes these videos top-notch. Keep it up!

I totally agree with you all, the voice over is the best. I also saw the no voice over version and to tell you the truth I just didn’t like it, the piece was amazing, but the no voice was not for me. This is a learning channel if some people don’t like it, they can mute it or watch another channel, it will not be as good as this channel trust me. I have watched other channels and will not go back. Jim keep doing it your way and forget about the critics. God bless

I love these more "simple" style bowls. The epoxy bowls, hollowforms etc LOOK more intricate with all the different colours, but these with just inlays really let the wood do all the work and REALLY show off your turning skills! As for your ASMR videos... I would stop them. There are very few people who actually prefer them, and the VAST majority of us are here for you and your commentary. You provide huge amounts of detailed information about the process, but you also let us into your private life to a small extent and your personality and wit shine out! OK, that's enough praise!! Take care, Jim. Hope the latest house viewings work out for you and I'm looking forward to next week's pine cones! Cheers!

😂😂😂 That end footage has me cackling, you're a good sport, Jim! It's always fun to have 2 bowls to compare in one video! These 2 are elegant and classic beauties. I love the chunkier inlay for the colour, lots of purple which I ADORE. I love the finer inlay for the texture, that beautiful, almost granite stone-like speckle and sheen. I love the colour and the spalting in the maple bowl, but I love the shape/profile and the chatoyance in the walnut bowl. It's impossible for me to pick a favourite because of loving completely different things about each one! What a spectacular pair, Jim, thank you for sharing these with us, and for chucking a good-natured giggle in at the end! I hope the posing was as fun for you as it looked!

lovely inlays this week... thanks for sharing them with us... LOVE the look of the large shells... but the contrast of the dark wood and the small shells is everything...

Your artistry is always on display with the differing color contrasts from the Designer Epoxy as well as the myriad inlay materials. That being said, I'm always amazed at the natural beauty Mother Nature imparts especially on these woods. Keep up the great work. P.S. - loved the expressions in the video of the thumbnails.

I say again “WOW”! I’m glad you have these sold, because, I don’t know which one I like better. Using the smaller crushed Mussel on the curve of the Maple was great to see how it was done! Using the larger pieces to do the inlays on the Spalded Maple is beautiful! They look different, but are both fantastic! Thanks for sharing how to do this! Dik Designer Epoxy

Of course that video comes up a week after we sold our old electric frying pan in a garage sale. I should have thought about using it in the shop. I almost forgot, great work again 😊 Design Epoxy.

These bowls both turned out beautifully. When you mentioned the inlays Last week I was so happy to see this episode. When you said it was mussels I was trepidatious at that idea. I was surprised at how nicely they both turned out, especially the spalted birch with the larger chips. That said, I think your choice of the black walnut for the fine ground shells was the best choice for that bowl. The spalted birch really showcased the side and top inlay with the chipped shells. One thing I liked about the chips is I can see the various colors more easily in larger chips. The fine ground shells had a beautiful, almost, iridescent quality. The wood choice you made for these bowls was spot on for the shells size and texture. I think the larger chips mimic a granite, enhancing and bringing that spalting up as if to say, "check out these fine lines". I checked them out and they were beautiful. Black walnut... need I say more?? Well yeah!! with the diamond dust, pave, and iridescence glitter, this combination is also a hit out of the park. Beautiful contrast showcased in this piece of artwork. I believe the Jim Sprague Woodturning Shop was busy, busy, busy on this week and there were some beautiful pieces turned out here! Thanks Jim! How clever to make a bowl with two inlay areas. And I love the curved inlay on the walnut. I was happy to see you return to inlay work. It was nice to see the variety possible with the mussel shell material. Those are two beautiful and successful bowls. The shape of the walnut bowl is exquisite! I don’t mean to take anything away from your epoxy work because you always knock my socks off with that, as well. Inlay ideas…we were just in Maine and saw some crushed lobster shell jewelry.

My special moment is always when you put Waterlox on and that chattoyance is even more enhanced. These bowls are so beautiful. Its been some time since the last inlay. I rather stay with your voice over videos since they inspire me far more for my own creative work - although I am no woodturner.

34:18 this may be one of those times where the algorithm isn’t your friend in terms of putting more than one kind of content on a single channel. A number of creators I watch that make multiple types of content have more than one channel to split the different types of videos up on because it works better that way with RU-vid’s algorithm. The inlay on these bowls are absolutely beautiful. ❤
