Man . . . . right up to the point that the pinecones appeared, I was totally sold on this little barrel. I was stoked, a NZ project without resin lol. I know that this is just my opinion, but if you had just put a little round finial on the lid, it would be something I would give good folding money for. The pinecones are cute and a pretty way to accent the top, just not for me. Love your work, keep waffling and I'm going to try to see you on Channel 4 next month. Blessings!

Really like this barrel, turned out real funky in the end. I thought for a moment you were going to put the pine cone disc inside the barrel and it was going to be the surprise 😆

Here's a cool idea. How about you use termite infested wood and fill the empty Space with colored resin. I’m sure it would look pretty funky. p.s If you want you can use the other piece of wood from this video for a base for it.

How about you drill 7 holes (1 central + 6 around) on the top of the other piece (most of the way through with a forstner bit), fill them with colored red resin and turn it so the resin shows on the sides and bottom? Would look awesome :)
