Woodworking, Building My Own Front Door! 

As a home inspector in the midwest, I imagine a walk through a house you've put so much of yourself into, would have to be some version of a treat.

Fantastic work! Much work like this is now done on the CNC machine. The "cloudlifts" in the top/bottom rails are such nice detail with the plunge at the center lite.

I really enjoy watching builds like these. I find they inspire me to get out into my shed and try new things; though on a slightly smaller scale.

I literally just finished a house with same exterior design as yours. Cedar shingles with woven corners and a flare at bottom, window detail was the same as well the header and sill were proud of jambs and the apron was flush with jambs.Nice work and door!

Beautiful! I love the design and the attention to detail. As a painter, I have found carpenters have a real appreciation for the beauty of wood and want a natural look. Even for a natural look it needs to be stained. The amber cast of an oil base finish is not enough. Stain will condition and romance the wood. It's also important on the exterior side that it have several coats of finish with a UV blocker. The sun's ultra violet rays will brake down a thin coat of clear finish in 18 months so it's important to have multiple coats. "Sickens" door finish system is good and available in quarts.

I'm assuming that eastern and western cherry are the same. One of the most beautiful north American hardwoods. Looks great initially, looks 100x better after a few years of patina.
