Agree with Tellez. These type of business videos for woodworking aren't out there as much as the 'make this thing that there's already a huge supply of' videos. Thanks, Justin!

It's 1:30 and I am still up bingeing your videos. I have spent the last 3 hours watching your videos, and every single one has been a banger. In the last 3 hours you have moved to my number 1 favorite woodworking RU-vidr.

I met a guy who does laser engraving as a side hustle/hobby at a local holiday craft fair and have been bringing my work over to him to engrave my logo for $25 - $30 per job. Looking forward to adding a laser to my own shop when money dictates (and space).

Again, great video and I love the business aspect. A few thoughts: 1) Numerous metropolitan areas have Maker Spaces that are extremely inexpensive and grant access to tools and machines that a starting individual does not have 2) As with most production runs, a lot of the cost is in the setup and change over. Making 1 or 5 or 10 versus 500 isn’t that much of a difference ONCE you have all your tooling in place. It’s the change over that is the most expensive. Reflect that in your pricing and, if you have some space, think about offering warehousing. I’d much rather batch out a product and make extra on warehousing and than have to do a change over. I know this is small scale in this situation, but you want 10? Great. But after that 10, I can build you 10 more for the same cost or a 100 more for a discount of 40% per unit and stock the excess units for you for only 3% more per month. Just a couple thoughts. Thanks again for a great video.

I like these videos. I am in a similar situation that your friend is. I'm in the process of talking with a local micro brewery. They are looking to get a bunch of beer flights made.

Awesome that’s a great opportunity, they’re going to need replacements overtime too as they wear from heavy use or breakage!

Great video.. I see in my area the a lot of people got into woodworking to get rich. They have watched videos from RU-vid and a lot of the influencers tell how easy it is to make money and what tools to purchase. Next thing you know, you are buying their tools from Market Place because it was so much work, no sales, and spent way to much money on tools that they did not need. Keep up the good work with the business side of woodworking!

This is another in a great series of shows. You are approaching woodworking shows with a little different take than most offer. I especially like your touching on the business considerations that many fail to mention. Keep up the good work!

What is your thoughts on Amazon handmade?
@BitnerBuilt
@BitnerBuilt Год назад
I haven’t personally used it yet so can’t speak to it but any service that can get you exposure to a wide audience is always good (of course based on fees) just a casual look on Amazon site, it says that you have a $.99 fee +8 to 15% commission plus there will most likely be some expense on your part for shipping. They provide you with a shipping credit, but it might not cover everything. If you have them ship it, then there’s a fee obviously all of this needs to be fully understood, and factored into your pricing.
