En algunos países puede q sean técnicas pasadas de moda, pero en algunos países aún se utilizan, yo he trabajado en pisos y escaleras de madera y así lo hacemos, aunque nunca con la brea (alquitrán) tan caliente y peor a punto de ignición como se vió ahí q se prende fuego. Usamos la brea menos caliente pero la técnica es la misma. Son trabajos muy sacrificados pero el acabado final vale la pena y x eso son costosos por la mano de obra q lleva, además son trabajos q duran muchos, muchos años .

It’s the same method used here in the UK back in the 1930s, for polished, parquet wood block flooring. They were set in hot pitch. Also wooden roads, made again from wooden blocks in towns and cities during the 19th century. The asphalt not only used as adhesive, it is a termites deterrent too. It Is useful in termites infested area, workers can place an asphalt soaked cloth at the ground foundation of walls to prevent termites encroachment from the ground of walls.

Sad to watch, because the work they do is pretty good, but evetually most of them will suffer from occupational diseases due to lack of protective equipment... no dust extraction, no skin protection, and the masks they wear do almost nothing...
