MSRP: $669-699 USD
These super light weight bikes are fantastic. Carbon Fork, amazing compound 2.25 in Schwalbe tires let you dump tire pressure out on the trail for a little bit of squish. Fantastic geometry (68/69 HA), awesome pedals, great 9 spd 11-32T drive train and hydraulic disc brakes. Everything you want in a neighborhood ramp charger combo MTB...except a suspension fork you say? Coming late spring 2020 for $200 more.

My kid loves this bike. High quality stuff. Today he started to jump curbs. I kinda wish I had bought the front suspension version.

I've already ordered the off 4 for my (soon) 5y old daughter. I'll try to make those tyres tubeless ofc. I'll update as soon as we had our first ride.

Nice! Let us know how the tubeless goes...

How would you compare it to the regualar Woom 4 - for MTB use. I like the Idea of it being even lighter and that V brakes is more than enough and minimum risk of over dosing frontbrake. The smaller tires would in most cases also be enough and alot lighter.

Hi. Thanks for the review. I'm considering the Woom Off 6 for my kid, only I'm a bit worried it will be to big for him. He's 10 year old and 140 cm tall (when in his cycling shoes). How tall it the older boy in your video (as I'm guessing he's riding 26 inch version)?
@TheBikeDads
@TheBikeDads 4 года назад
1979paranoidandroid 140 cm is the minimum seat height recommendation on the woom off 6. The eldest boy on the woom 6 off in the video is 138 cm.

Thanks for the review. I am considering the bike myself as I'm a 5'3" guy ._. The thing is LIGHTWEIGHT! Do you think that would be a good idea? I would probably switch the 150mm cranks for something longer.
@TheBikeDads
@TheBikeDads 3 года назад
It’s too small for 5’3 adult. Look for a xs or small 27.5 or 29 inch adult bike.

Hi, which one would you recommend for 6yo kid, who likes jumps/simple DH - Woom Off Air 4 (fork 60mm), Early Rider Hellion 20 (fork 80mm, heavier), META HT 20 2020 (fork 100mm, heaviest), any other?

Do you know if they come with replaceable derailer hanger? Great review, Thanks

What age do you recommend a suspension fork bike? I have 5 year twin boys and debating whether to get OFF or OFF AIR?
@TheBikeDads
@TheBikeDads 4 года назад
CULions2 less age, but more riding terrain. If light single track and neighbourhood riding, no need for a suspension fork. Use air pressure in tires for a dampening effect. If long descents on footy/rocky terrain, the air fork may be with it.

Where do you get the part to make it a quick adjust?

Audrey Parks any bike shop will have a quick release seat clamp.

Do you think I could swap in a RST air fork to the non-air Woom Off 5? Man it's hard to pass up 19 pound bikes when the kiddo is mainly bike-to-school-commute and we have a steep hillclimb coming home, but if the trail riding gets more intense I'd like a lockout-able fork for him. He's currently on a Woom 4 and his sister is on a Cleary Gecko but they'll both size up in the next year or three.
@TheBikeDads
@TheBikeDads 2 года назад
Nope, you can’t. Woom uses an OEM 1 inch steer tube diameter. The RST is one inch 1/8...

Did you have any problems converting the tires to tubeless? I'm guessing you had to add rim tape? I didn't think these tires were "tubeless ready"... If the they can be converted to tubeless, that will help me to decide on shock vs non-shock version of this bike. (I think that running low pressure will help make up for the lack of shock) Absolutely stellar review! Thank you!
@TheBikeDads
@TheBikeDads 4 года назад
Cody Rayl these were loaners so did not convert to tubeless. I seem to recall the tires at TR ready but it might take some effort regardless. Some gorilla tape and muc-off sealant and maybe a compressor and you should be good. We have had success with non TR tires and non TR rims. Remember you need Schrader Tubeless valves which are not as readily available everywhere.
