I'm so glad I found this video. I was trying the reset over and over but nothing was happening. And when you mention the line is only a half way point I realised the knob had shifted and wasn't able to reach the reset dot properly. I pushed up on the bottom of the boiler and bingo! It reset perfectly. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much! It has worked (so far). I was panicking as I am a private tenant and it's between Christmas and New Year. One happy warm family now. ☺
Thank you so much, you are awesome. In my home the boiler was out of order it was very cold I did called the plumbers booked appointment after 3 days. So I search on youtube how to fix boiler and I watched your video and fixed the boiler.
Thank you so much it worked!!! I turned my water and heating off for two days because l wasn’t going to been at home and had the same problem when l returned. Heat and water working now😀
That's mate, you've saved us a lot of money we've had a few power issues today with the weather so maybe down to that the central heating stopped working, I watched your video and did what you said and it worked
Thanks a lot for the video it was really helpful for this kind of situation and very cold weather, we were panicking and called here and there but get no help you are really a lifesaver… god bless you
Thank you. My boiler has been on the blink since yesterday morning and this seems to have got it back up and running. My place has gotten down to 10 degrees and everything has just now come back on!!!
thanks dude - I had used this method to sort this boiler about a year ago and it started acting this way today and i couldnt for the life of me remember what i did "im sure i just reset it, like turned it on and off, but the power isnt doing anything?!" ...."reset" - thanks! :D
Your video helped me a lot !! Thanks ! The first thread you get on Google about this error is gas supply .. never had an issue with it last 3 years and now this.. Also regarding Worcester Bosch .. I have this for like 7 years since I bought this house and it's pushing underfloor heating in 3 rooms and one other floor radiators .. it's fantastic little boiler
Mate...thanks! Saved me two days wait for an engineer (and a bit of embarrassment). I have the same boiler and like you I hadn't noticed the 'reset' word!
Many thanks, just got back from an appointment at a hospital in London to find the boiler not working and blue light flashing with the room temperature rapidly sinking below 16 degrees. The Beast from the East nearly got us but thanks to your tip we are now quickly warming up.
Thank you for this video a life saver. Had the same problem for some reason but the reset cured the flashing light and system was back up and running. Well explained by the way what you did.
Thanks,, this video informed me how to use the reset.. just to clafify and as said on the video,, leave the bolier on and turn the other knob to reset and leave it a couple of minutes...Just for information I read this elsewhere and this was the case for my blue light error showing (but may not necessarily be yours)...In the extreme cold we are having now at the end of February 2018 the condensing pipework which is like a sink waste pipe that may go to an external drain froze up not allowing the condensation water to escape... I cleared the ice out of this and reset the boiler as per the video,, Hey Presto.. Expensive call out saved and warm and toasty house again !! Cheers !!!
Thanks, very helpful vid. I actually did this, and then came and youtube'd it and found this. Just giving it half an hour to see if we have hot water but it the flashing blue light has gone so hopefully should be sound. Thanks.
Thanks so much, had the same problem, think it was a combination of needing resetting and an iced up condenser pipe. fixed with blow heater for an hour and then complete reset of heating system by switching off at the main control and then doing a reset as you suggested.
Once you see "reset" it's hard to understand how you could miss it, but when you're stood freezing, there's snow outside, your reptile thermostats are beeping cos their too cold and you think your toes are going to fall off it is easy to over look. Thanks for the simple video that I could actually follow. My boiler now seems to be back on and running.
Cheers. Found the problem. The estate agent showed some people around the house yesterday and they went in the Attic and instead of turning light off they turned the boiler isolater (fully labelled boiler isolater) off instead. Boiler now back on.
Yes... just reset mine with the right hand knob (Greenstar Ri Worcester)... not sure why it went off? but it occurred at the same time as a biblical rainstorm and there was a little water underneath boiler !!! :-) Thanks for posting !
Bingo. Just what I was looking for. Just got home after holiday having turned hot water off too save money and came home to a non functional boiler. Reset it as in video and away we went. Wife got her hot shower in the end. Life saver!
Thanks for your comments. We are all welcome to our own opinions. Point of the video was not to claim to be a boiler expert but show how resetting the boiler is not clear and how to locate the reset position on the boiler. Many people may not find it easily and try to power down to reset (which BTW doesn't reset the boiler). It's a quick fix for those in real need if it can help. Sorry if you found the video pointless or of no help. The reason I put it up was that when I was in the position of not having any hot water or heating, there were no videos showing this. I'm not looking for a million views.
I tried the reset many times and wasn't patient enough, just assumed it was something more. I tried again after watching your video and waited! Hey presto it's working. Thank you so much.
Worked me mate literllay woke up this morning to a slow flashing blue light was about to get british gas out for £60 even though i pay a monthly home cover fee
I really appreciate all the comments. Really happy that I have been able to help so many people out. Apologies that the video is a bit long as a few have pointed out.
Thank you!!!! Was dreading winter the boiler hasn't worked for weeks, I just turned it off as couldn't afford to get a gas engineer out. So I decided to look on RU-vid, you have saved the day!!!!!!! Can't believe it was so easy 😳
I got a smart meter so had to rest the smart meter as well as the boiler as the gas run out. anyone with the same problem top up credit if needed then reset smart meter then reset boiler
I've done this many times before, I'm not calling no one out, all there gonna do is something really simple and that's ALL to do with money so I'm gonna do myself..
