Mark’s opening word sequence currently: TRUTH KNOWN VIEWS FIRST FIXED MINDS OTHER THEIR HEARD ABOUT TAKEN CRIED YOUNG LARGE NORTH PLACE HOUSE THING GIRLS VISIT COMES WHICH STILL Theme: The 5-letter words from Jane Austen’s novel “Pride and Prejudice”, in order for as you are as handsome as any of them, Mr. Bingley MIGHT like you the best of the party.”
@@DocXango I really don’t think this streak will last the whole novel through, as that would take a year and a half Also even if it did go past the first chapter, surely at some point the distance between new 5-letter words will grow so large that I would have to post an entire chapter of a novel, right? Pretty sure that goes over the character limit But as of right now, please enjoy these comments as a truly awful way to read Pride and Prejudice for the first time
Mark, I love your patience and tenacity. I had the "AS" on the first try, finally figured it out on the fifth try a half hour later. I was so sure there wouldn't be another "A" and "S" in it. I figure out the second "A" when I tried "AWASH" on the fourth try. Ten minutes later I got "AMASS." My wife teaches English as a Second Language, and after meeting her, I realized just how weird and difficult Englush is. She loves teaching her students the 500 different ways to pronounce "ough."
I like that feeling where you've got a few guesses left and you KNOW you're going to get the solution if only you could find the ONE thing left that it could possibly be.
I got this one on the second word. My starting word was "ASTER" and I spent like three to five minutes after thinking of "AMASS" because I didn't want to try the double double. But it worked out in the end.
Well that was exhileratimg to watch. And nail biting too. Well done Mark for the entertaining video. I had a good start with ABODE leading to ASTIR then AMASS. Alot of pondering minutes later to get this solution!
Well done, Mark! This one took me 4: shirt, gland, pease, amass. Wordlebot told me afterwards that amass was the only possibility remaining on my 4th go, but I spent a good minute wondering if that could *possibly* be right, given the double double. Words like omasa and kvass never crossed my mind. 😺
I quit after the third go because I was typing in all kinds of words that were not registering. I never though of amass. I'm glad you figured this one out.
Well done Mark. Glad you got it. I think that's the longest of your videos I've seen. I had the same problem with the AS and nothing else. Could end ASY ASP ASS ASK or ASM. Fortunately I still had the letters to try SPASM, which gave me the M. Got it in 5 in the end. Definitely a tricky one.
I happened to get this on guess 3 FLAME > CHASM > AMASS I knew it would be a brutal word for most people but somehow got this one very quickly. Theres also been weeks I've struggled with that other people seemed to get very quickly. Always cool to see how it differs from person to person
Situational Wordle wins again..... I was waiting whilst my car had another emissions test done, so I played FUMES as a starter. Then, as I was hoping they wouldn't AMASS, I got an easy 2 today. 🙂 Plus, I m used to Wordle and its trickiness now. I almost always attempt the solve from guess 2. Also, my opener couldn't have been much luckier - FUMES eliminated all but 2 words. AMISS and AMASS. I remembered that AMISS had been the answer before so there was only one option. 🙂
Grand > Clash > Boast > Peasy > Quasi > Amass This one was absolutely brutal. A double double letter is never fun. It looks like the difficulty I felt for this one was shared seeing how even mark took 5 minutes.
It took me so long, i literally startet guessing random letters, because as a non-native speaker i didn't even know the word. I dont feel to bad to confess about it though. I feel relieved that even Mark needed a while.
I got the other pair of A and S first, might have been easier to spot the double double from there. A suboptimal PATIO somehow led me to the improbable but very lucky ABLES which only left AMASS as a possible answer.
Woohoo! I was hoping this one wouldn’t be another streak reset for Marc after I played it yesterday. Got it in 5 I think out of pure exasperation thinking it couldn’t be the word. 😂 The double doubles are indeed mean ones to try to solve
Stare > Clasp > Quasi > Amass I did go for Quasi!! I clocked Amass for third also but refused to use the double double so early. I thought quasi would be fairly likely, prepositions have been the answer before, haven’t they?
GGs! I was thinking [today’s word] at around the four-minute mark, but was trying to think of a better guess that didn’t replicate _two_ letters. Turns out through a word finder app, there were only four possibilities: Kvass, Omasa, Quass and [today’s word] (plus Spasm which could not have worked with the yellow 1st S).
Nice to see Mark struggle with us lesser mortals, my wife got it in 2 with SMILE- AMASS. I took 4 in about 10 minutes. Couldn't get the double S a tall
yup, this took me ages as well. I was down to my 6th guess and I had almost the entire alphabet greyed out, but luckily I did manage to get it in the end haha
One time i couldn't come up with, not so long ago. The word was vapid in the end. I knew it ended on id, in the end i got a word mapid if i remember it correctly. In the beginning when i started playing wordle i sometimes gave and put in a word i knew couldn't be it. But nowadays i don't want to do that anymore. But with vapid i really had to make up a word to avoid that.
MARVEL CHARACTERS ALPHABETICALLY DAY 8: BROOD-STEAK-FLASH-AMASS I think came up with AMASS a lot faster than some people, but man. Nice to hear Mark protest, like me, that "there are no words."
l got this one surprisingly intuitively, but otherwise l probably wouldve struggled with this one as well,, like Mark said double-doubles are quite tricky... l had GHOST PLASM AMASS
Omg, what!! I got it in 3s and I felt it was rather easy I went with AMAZE, I got 3 greens, I just wanted to check how many Ms are there & if there’ is I or L in it, so I went with SLIMS, then I knew it was AMASS
Yeah, I thought that. I wouldn't have thought it's outside the bounds of what the Wordle editor would allow. Maybe it'll be the answer at some point in the next few days now 🙂
