These questions come up all the time! This is how they will be asked on the test. Things like percent of, percent greater than, long wordy sentences, setting up percent equations, converting decimals to percentages and more.

The GRE and GMAT are two of most used graduate exams for those seeking to study a Masters Degree or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree. The Graduate Record Exam and Graduate Management Admissions Test have been taken for over 50 years and are taken by approximately 600,000 and 300,000 people worldwide annually, respectively. These exams are typically taken between the ages of 18-40, by those who have completed, or are about to complete, their Bachelors Degree.

Thank you so much for this. I'm giving my gre 2nd attempt on 26th and I had messed up quants on the 1st attempt. Now I'm completely relying on your videos to boost my score. Will be back on 27th to let you know how it goes.

Hello Philip, I truly cannot thank you enough for making these excellent videos! I am a huge fan of yours. Currently, I am going through your quant videos a third time around, as I have been studying pretty hard this summer to take the GRE on August 15. I already took the GRE at home back on March 1, 2021, and I got a 161 on the Quant section. This time I have been studying smarter and harder. I am gunning for a top score as I hope to apply to a few PhD in Economics programs in 2023. Right now I am halfway through completing a Master's Degree in Statistics, and I have to say that I really appreciate the thoroughness of your videos. I really like how you explain the math concepts at their core and proceed to work though many challenging questions that force me to think hard. Also, as an American, I have borrowed a few of your British sayings such as, "Bob's your Uncle", and "You are now the don of...". Thank you and best regards Daniel

Haha that's great to hear Daniel. Thank you for the kind words and good luck with any confusion arising from your use of those Britishisms!

I wish I would've come across your page sooner, you make understanding all this math so much simpler. It has been over 14 years since I have been in school, and I am studying for my GRE. I did horribly the first go around, I am binging your videos and hoping this will help me acquire a better score the second attempt. Thank you for all this free tutoring and explanations-you are amazing!!

Hey Philip, is the quant section getting tougher? Could you please make a video for advanced combination problems, as well as for probability? I have my GRE on 17th August.

Hello Philip. Been binging on the sublime videos you make. Could you please try to make a video on the Admissions timeline for fall and the early deadlines of universities? And what are the necessary things to remember. Would be very grateful…

Hey Phil I have my GRE exam next month. While i was revising percentages, i came across this particular question in magoosh which i found quite intriguing and confusing at the same time. would love your explanation on this question and some other questions as such (FYI ; this is question is listed under the "very hard" category by magoosh) Q) On a 100-point exam, 40 percent of the students scored more than 60, and 20 students scored less than 40. What is the least number of students who could have taken the exam? I hope you solve this question. By the way, that was a wonderful video, good questions and explanations.

Dear Tested Tutor, I feel like a ginny pig because this year I am taking the new GRE and to be honest I am so nervous. Do you have any new content coming up before the new test is administered this September?

Question: What about a 237% decrease in 140? How can we do those types of questions where %decrease is more than a hundred? Your videos are very helpful!Thanks in advance!
@TheTestedTutor
@TheTestedTutor 2 года назад
You can't. There is no decrease above 100%. Else you end in the upside-down, your soul tormented by math demons, cackling and prodding maniacally.

In the Sofia and Philip problem, isn't x what Sofia's salary would be if it were 30% higher? Before solving what percent $5000 would be of Sofia's salary, don't we need to find her actual salary (70% of x)?
@TheTestedTutor
@TheTestedTutor 2 года назад
That won't work because finding 70% of something cannot undo a 30% increase. We have to define the original value as x, the increase as 1.3x and then undo it by dividing.
